House Season 5 Finale

How amazing was House finale tonight? Definitely left me breathless. I had to re-watch that last office scene with House and Cuddy to get my head wrapped around the fact that House was hallucinating all of the things he did with Cuddy (to my disappointment). Oh man I can not wait for season 6 to start to see how House's new residence is...

I was so confused at the end. I mean...was he admitted because he hallucinated the things with Cuddy, or was he admitted because of the Codine? Or what? I'm so confused.

Hallucination...he tried the drug to fix it, but it didn't do anything, seems like the opposite happens...it made it worst.

Indeed amazing !!! im actually still in shock, (i also had to replay the last part ) i mean this is like the best episode of the series ever!! sure it's going to win some awards... no one could pull the hallucination thing better than House writers (no greys and bones tumor cliche)

I noticed on the sign at the facility in the end that it was a mental institution. I think House, in the last few episodes, realized that if his hallucinations weren't due to some serious medical condition they must be the result of a mental disorder. How many of us are that surprised that they're pegging House with some sort of mental illness? :p I really love the way they handled it - top notch writing and acting for sure! For once, in a VERY long time, they have me genuinely worried about our favorite disgruntled doctor. As happy as I am to see House and Cuddy getting it on, I'm still super disappointed that it didn't "really" happen.

i'm not so disappointed by the fact that he's -officially now- nuts as from the whole cuddy thing. i mean it's so freaking obvious that they're crazy (about each other i mean :P) and something actually happened i was like "YES!YES!YES!" and now i'm like "NONONONOOOO!". soooo disappointed that it didn't actually happen. although it was great even for fake action.
stil, why mental facility? what we all love about him is how completly nuts he is and how much of a jerk. although having a tumor or cancer or sth would be a cliche at the time being, is mental ilness the only solution?? for what it's worth i really think that when he's done there and goes back to the hospital (healthy, hopefully) him and cuddy will be together. she's a racional woman, she sees how much he wants her and unlike him she's not too scared or self-obsessed or anything to admit that she does too.
keep your fingers crossed people!heads up for season 6!
cheers

you people have misunderstood this episode... House has halucinated all that stuff because of the vicondin, it is not a mental illness or disease.this is because he halucinated that he was going cold-turkey when he was infact still taking vicodine all the time thus keeping him halucinating
amazing episode though, one of the best yet :)

and that is most likely rehab he is going to, not a mental hospital

yeah, well...it IS a mental hospital (it says so over the entrance) but I agree with the rehab/detox. Brilliant episode though in any case! Am like all you others very curious as to how they'll continue the storyline...

In the episode before he told cuddy dat a detox facility coudn't hold him and even though that was a hallicunation I think we all could say that still aplies..And since he is having hallicuntions he needs the proper help cause even is it is because of the drugs his brain took allot of damage.and we have all seen does shirts they have in mental hospitals, I don't think he can get himself out of that one.so in conclusion he is a crazy genius and we all love him for that but he is in a mental hospital cause he sees dead people and thinks he had sex with is boss...ow and about that.. there is a reason his brain came up with that story and in the end (if those idiots don't cancel the show) he will and up with her and that's going to be soo much fun to see I can't wait

I wouldn't say that this is the best episode to date, but it was definitely good.
His hallucinations and inability to focus is from the the vicodin, he is not going insane.
Over time, the effects of Vicodin and prescription drug abuse will become more noticeable and more harmful. At first the Vicodin user will have effects such as constipation, irregularity in heart functions, nausea and dizziness. As Vicodin use grows, Vicodin effects can also come in the form of hallucinations, vision problems, and constant confusion. During the last stages of Vicodin addiction, users have been known to be unable to control bodily functions and this use can sometimes result in coma or death. (
if you wanted to get in depth, and that is quite consistent to house's condition.
but really, watch the season 2 or 3 finale again, or the "three stories" episode from season one. I think all of those trump this, regardless though, it was great, the thing with kutner's death and all of recent events. I thought it was a very solid season.
and I wouldn't worry about it being canceled, unless there is another strike.

It was a great episode!!, though I couldn't sleep after seen it...
Maybe it wasn't the best ep of all seasons, but surely was the most shocking of all. 'Cause who imagine that House ended in a mental hospital! or that the "thing" with Cuddy didn't happend, was just a cruel game -for House and for us- of his sick brain!...but the thing that really made me sigh was that he admit that he needed her and the much he wanted to be with Cuddy, even House asked her to move in together!, that was a huge step!
I hope they don't cancel the serie, but that would be a bad way to finish it...
I WANT TO SEE WHAT HAPPEND NEXT! I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE 6 SEASON!

If it's the Vicodin causing the problems why did he go into a mental hospital? Shouldn't he be in a detox facility? I don't believe the two are the same!

That was brilliant, the acting was amazing, i'd be surprised if that episode isn't at least nominated for some awards. The way it ended makes me want to see season 6 now.Undoubtedly that is the best season finale for any series i've seen this year, it even tops a few of the finales of past seasons. This season was good overall but having seen the finale it makes me hopeful for a brilliant 6th season and finally some sort of explanation of Kutner's suicide and a real House and Cuddy hook up.

What an amazing episode, I thought it was one of the best this season even without the shock ending- with it it's definitely the best episode ever.
I actually really hope it was the last episode and they decide not to make a season 6. It was a great way to end the show with a classic case, Chase and Cameron finally tying the knot and House reaching the extreme of his vicodin addiction/mental illness (personally I think he has a bit of both, hence the psychiatric hospital). So many loose ends were tied up or settled, and I always hoped House would end up a wreck- he's a great character and to go out in style like this would be fitting.
Let's just hope the LOST finale will be as good and restore the collective faith of the free world in Jack et al.

I agree that this could be such a good ending to the series with house finally getting some help with his vicodin problem, and leaving the house and cuddy thing as just a hallucination is also perfect.
Now bring on Lost!!

this episode was amazing, ill admit that. i felt so bad for house when he realized he hallucinated all of his and cuddys sleeping together. i very nearly cried actually and i dont normally do that! though i am scared this may mean the end of house. i mean a mental institute? as soon as i saw that i though, omg! no this is the end! i will be very pissed if it is.
