Episode Recap: "It's Coming"

After spending the last episode in the past, this one picked back up where we were in present day, but with many eyes (as always) looking to the future. And based on several of the characters' reactions, that future (again, as always) seems more ominous than promising. Even so, in this episode, the "teams" that have been forming seemed to take full shape around the opposing captains of Arthur and Angela Petrelli. Meanwhile, Mohinder was spreading his awful skin rash to others via "the formula," Elle and Sylar's relationship took a shocking turn (literally), Hiro was being childish (again, literally) and everyone learned a powerful secret that could stop Arthur's plan in his tracks. well, the most interesting thing about this episode is probably that the writers seem to have decided that it is time to start all over again. As the plot was getting more and more complicated during this season, I suppose they want to make the audience feel more at ease. I believe they are going to do another version of what happened in the first season. This time around, it is not the New York that might be destroyed but the entire world, the key to everything is Claire again (as in Season 1, Save the cheerleader, save the world) and as Hiro has been one of the most likeable characters in season one due to his naivite and child-like behaviour and fascination, they made him forget everything and he is dicovering his ability all over again. It is a little cheap to return to the old recipies of season 1 so that heroes will stay accessible for a broader audience, but on the other hand I am glad that they are trying to brake it down again a little, as it was really getting a bit too messy with too many individual storylines and too many changes in character's personality.

I must be getting disillusioned with the show, because I was not impressed with this episode. I thought the big reveal about Claire’s specialness was anticlimactic.
