WTH?

SPOILER ALERT Do not read below if you haven't finished Season 2!

Ok, so how can they kill off Marian? She's an integral part of the legend and the show. And Will and Djaq staying in the Holy Land? WTH? A very strange season finale that seemed written mainly for shock value. Although I think it's completely lame to kill Marian off, if they do bring her back that will be even more lame. The only potentially interesting thing to come out of this is Guy's character developement. He killed the woman he loved. Will it drive him insane? Is he free now to be as evil as he can be? Or will he regret it and devote himself to a life of penitence? (ha, I don't think so!)

I agree. It was a BIG shock, that they killed her. Cause she really is one of the leading roles in the legend and series.
I JUST WAN'T HER TO RETURN. I don't care if it's lame. She should just come back. :D

Well, I was thinking of a way that they could pull it off. Perhaps she didn't die, was just seriously wounded but they told everyone she was dead. That way, she would be protected from the sheriff and Guy. She stays in the holy land to heal and eventually returns to Nottingham. It would still be kind of lame, just in the sense that they didn't hint anything of the kind in the season finale. I mean, I swear you actually see Robin putting her in a grave!

Will and Djaq are going to return around ep. 5 of season 3. At the end of the finale, Allan is carrying a pigeon carrier from Balsam's. I don't have time to look for it, but there's someting on the bbc website that confirms their return.
Lucy Griffiths apparently wanted to leave, but she will return for a flashback episode around the middle of the season.
According to Richard Armitage, Guy turns to drinking and becomes a total wreck and he blames Robin for it. (lol)
The nice thing about season 3 is that we'll get new characters: Friar Tuck, a Locksely girl named Kate, and Guy's sister!

When you look at the story between her and Guy, it was great story-wise that he killed her when she tells him she finally made her choice and will never love him. It was really intense. But their mutual attraction was my favorite part of the show... I hope there's going to be interesting stuff next season to keep me watching cause without the original Robin and Marian... I don't know. We'll see :P

i hate this i want them to bring marian back, i dont care if they turn it into a sci-fi show for an episode and bring her back from the dead! i just dont think that the show will be the same without her.

Lucy was leaving the show, and they wont bring her back full time because she is now doing another show???? But series 3 may be the last season anyway because the guy who plays robin is leaving the show :( gutted but thats life. They already sort off replaced the show on the BBC with merlin ( its okay but nowhere near as good as Robin Hood) Its all a bit Harry Potter for me!!!

I thought the same thing when I first saw her die!! The thing is the original lore does not even have marrian in it... Some of the stories have robin married to another woman and others have him not married at all. It is not till around 200 years after that she was introduced into the legend. I find it interesting that this show may be the closest to the lore of robin hood that I have ever seen. Just a thought. If you are interested in the story of robin you should check out wikipedia...the article is quite interesting.
