While David Morrissey (guest star on the David Tennant-led Who Christmas special, "The Next Doctor") was shedding some secrets about his role in that new episode, Colin Salmon's name popped up for the most coveted role on British TV.

He already played Dr. Moon in the Library episode. It simply wont due. Also, he doesn't fit the description Seven Moffet said he was casting.

Julischka: But the point is, the presidency of the United States isn't a business nor a television show. Weeeell, it's not supposed to be...
I'm not looking at it as a blackman-whiteman issue but from the show stand-point. The actor doesn't seem to fit many of the stated criteria for what they're looking for and for what's expected. I could be wrong of course. Like I said before, it'll be interesting to see what happens and how.
PPF: I agree there.

I'm a little skeptical bout it, mostly because is fase physionomia does not fit with the doctor's personality, but I might be wrong, and if he gets selected, I think the whole being skeptical thing will eventually pass with the time

I don't really have anything to say about that, since I have never really seen him act and don't have any arguments about the doctor being black. Who cares?((To PPF:That doesn't matter, Colin Baker played commander maxil before he was the doctor :)))Anyway, the change is going to be nice, no matter who gets the role.

it would be wierd but i wouldn't mind, but i would like Paterson Joesph to play the doctor coz he is great espeacialy in his new show "survivors" and in "jackel" who has my favourite person to be the doctor James Nesbitt.he is great and to me has the kind of acting to be da doctor.i dont mind who its is really as long as its not david morrisey!!

Eh, I kind of agree, it kind wouldn't seem like The Doctor if he's not white and clean shaven like he's always been, but it could be done. It would be hard, but possible, if he's a fucking good actor and they develop the character well.
That said though, I can imagine Paterson Joseph as The Doctor. Colin Salmon not so much.
