season 5?

anyone know when it will come out?

i have to say. in the last couple of weeks almost all the shows i watch has come to its season finale lost/heroes/smallville/one tree hill to name a few but this was by far the best one.

i did semi expect what the angels were up to. zackariah seems fishy fromt he start so that kinda gave me a hint. though i did think god was in on it all but i guess god isnt.

anyhoo. any clues on 5th season starting?

I wonder what the story line is going to turn into. Since next season they are obviously going to have to deal with the devil, and assuming that they aren’t going to kill of the brothers then what next? If they defeat the devil then how can the story line go on?

i really think it would be a good idea to end on season 5dont get me wrong i love supernatural more then any other show in the world but looking at how i used to like smallville but it just carried on too long and now i cant stand it, i dont really want that to happen with Supernatural. it's good to have some closure and plus there's always the dvds to watch to get your winchester fix after the shows all done, all my seasons have been throughly watched and will be watched lots more in years to follow :)

i read somewhere, that the producer or director (forget) didnt want the season to go past season 5, so that it doesnt jump the shark or anything

Sibernian I read the same thing. I also read recently here on Sidereel that they feel even stronger about that now that Kim Manners, who was such a diving force behind the show, is gone. Eric Kripke said from the moment he first developed it it was always a 5 season show specifically plotted. (I will try to link that interview to this thread when I find it.)So my question is season 5...will they actually show Lucifer? and if so who will play Lucifer? I have to say after watching the finale of Fringe and see who was playing Bell (don't want to post spoilers for those who have not seen it yet). Can show top that?

Supernatural should end after the 5th season because the characters are at a point where to go beyond (or come back from) their current path would mean they are breaking their own canon.
I am certain that Mr. Kripke knows exactly how the show will end, and I can say with near as much certainty that dragging the show beyond his intended ending would only lead to rating slumps and a less climactic finale for Sammy and Dean Winchester... or some noob...
Many of us remember the sorrow of watching Bo and Luke Duke be replaced by their lame cousins Coy and Vance.

I agree. But before it goes, i just wish that it has a "normal" episode: one where they go and kill something, not this wacky storyline. Believe me, i love the show, but i really love those episodes best. But i bet that Ellen and Jo will be back for season 5.

i dont think that they will kill off lucifer, i think they will find a way to trap lucifer back up in the depths of hell, restoring the seals that were broken. we might even have another flash back like when dean went back in time to see his mothers past, but this time, they will go back in time to prevent the breaking of the seals or most likely the killing of lilth by sam. i know that castiel said you cant change destint, but if sam and dean have the help of some angels during their time in the past then thay can change destiny, or at least putting it off for a while...
hope they return to a season 6, even if its just like the first season where the brothers are hunting ghosts, vampires and everything evil.
