Highly Anticipated Episode... 4 stars.

Face it, last night's episode was not meant to be a season opener. Remember the show went on a break, so it did not follow up on a finale clincher. I had no problem with this one, it was quite laid back and relaxing. The surgical contest was more of a post hazing ritual, and the audience got a chance to see another side of the doctors- those who in the promoting their self-interest misdiagnose and over test their patients, and those who rejoice at the realization that one of their patients has a medical 'mystery'. I was happy there was no Merey-McDreamy drama, and quite frankly am happy that he is now with Rose, albeit for a short time. Lexi is finally making a friend with George or so she hopes, and there was little to no mention of the 'Gizzie' (George-Izzie) drama as well. This show has yet to really devastate its fans and this episode was not an instance of that!

The episode on Thursday night was everything i expected it to be. Because they had just come back from a break it was more of a scene setter than anything. 6 weeks on from all the drama of the last episode... it was fairly laid back and not gut wrenchingly emotional like most episodes. Yet, still... at the end when mer and derek are together you can see he still wants her. We all know they are going to end up together... which is fantastic! But yeah, i was not disappointed at all with the episode. I think it is just getting us ready for all the drama to come starting from the next episode. So anyone who thinks that shonda rhimes has lost her touch is crazy. Grey's anatomy is still fantastic. I just can't wait to see how mer and derek get back together. Stoked my fav shows back on. 10/10 i say. and nothing less than great!

I completely agree Maddie, and a very good point. This episode is merely a launch pad for all the drama to come. And I think it is quite premature and indeed crazy for anyone to think that our beloved Rhimes has lost her touch.More so, I love that the characters have in this episode moved out of their character. This perfectly reflects life, how many times have you or someone else you have known, done something that is so contrary to your or their normal actions? Countless! It just shows that they like us, are humans and completely unpredictable. This is still my favorite show out there and I'm eagerly awaiting the other episodes!
