Warner Bros.' "The Dark Knight" helped giant-screen exhibitor Imax trim its third-quarter loss Thursday.
Toronto-based Imax posted a loss of $2.1 million during the quarter to Sept. 30, against a loss of $7.3 million in 2007.
Revenue jumped 13.2% to $33.5 million, against a year-earlier $29.6 million. Film revenue at $13 million, compared with $9.5 million last year, offset systems revenue that slipped to $14.1 million, against $14.9 million in 2007.
Imax's bottom line was dented by higher equipment and interest costs as the exhibitor rolled out its digital projection systems.
