Not like the book

I hope this series progresses further into the book.

To me it looks like it's going to just be D'Harans looking for Richard.

If they'd follow the book it would take years to really reach the end since there's about 12 books to the set.

It don't look like the series will ever hit the Emperor of the Old World and that's where the story really takes off!

This series from what I heard, is only going to contain the 1st book. I do agree with you that the series REALLY took off in the old world but if you think about it, there is PLENTY of story to tell in the first book to fill out this show

It was my understanding that Wizards First Rule would be covered in the first season of 22 episodes (if the show makes it that far) and then the next season (again, if that happens) would cover Stone of Tears.

Hmm, I really like it as just a show. If I put any notions of the book aside, it’s pretty enjoyable. I can understand and accept that it can't be totally true to the book because of format restrictions. That being said, I felt like the creators changed some things that did not need to be changed. For instance, why does Kaylan faint when she uses her powers, and where is the thunder sound? And the sisters of light raised Kaylan? What?! I don't want to spoil, so I'll just say that’s going to cause major plot problems if they get past the first book that I think will really hurt the story arch. The sisters really should not even be introduced yet, but I'll give the series that because there is no telling if Stone of Tears will get made and the sisters do add an import dimension. Oh well. Some of the stories their inventing to make the format self contained are pretty intriguing. I particularly like the story about the listener. It wasn't in the book, but it was good. I feel like we are seeing the beginnings of the growth that Richard goes through and I like that. The series seems well worth watching, but read the books too. They have a lot more depth.

I'm enjoying the series and I hope it makes it to another season.I'm just wondering, for the 2nd seasonHow would they be able to translate "Stone of Tears" into a series of self contained stories, since the majority of the book takes place inside the Palace of the Prophets without Kahlan's presence.
oh.. Jenny, Kahlan always felt weaker after using her power, and it produces a Thunder without sound sensation, which I think they actually translated quite well to the screen.
