Rate It: Was The Office's "Night Out" a 10?

*"Night Out" Spoilers Included!*

This week's all new episode of The Office, "Night Out" brought what I personally think was a complete stroke of comedy genius:

Michael Scott and Dwight Schrute in a New York night club. But wait, what could make it better?? Ryan on drugs? I'm sorry, what?

Did all the madness of the hobbit man, the amazon women, and the demise of Jim make the perfect mix for a 10/10 Office performance, or was it lacking?

Personally I did not like tonight's episode that much. So far, I have enjoyed the episode that played 2 weeks ago (the Dinner Party).

I liked Chair Model too. But I'm biased because I'm in love with Jim.

OMG..... too frickin funny. I loved this episode. Dwight was awesome as usuall, but how about Toby rubbing Pam's leg, then everyone dropping their jaw, and Toby running away like that. Oh mama... what a good laugh. I especially loved when Dwight dumped the drink that the blonde girl bought for him. Priceless.

not one of my favorites since its been back on. i sont think that ryan's drug problem is funny, although Michael and Dwights reaction to it was. I feel really bad for Toby! Everyone was just staring at him and he just announced that he was moving to costa rica and ran away! he can climb fences FAST!Kinda lacking in normal funnyness but not bad overall!

You know what? I have never said this, but ... what? What the hell were the writers thinking? Everything was so ... weird! Like, WHAT? I think BJ put TOO much of his own humor into it, and it was more sitcommy than The Office is supposed to be. I think that Jim should have had more of a freaked out reaction to the fact that he was the Michael of the episode, with all his screw-ups. It just wasn't ... DRY enough... I think they need to watch and make sure that they stay true to the format, or it's gonna jump the shark. That would SUCK.

I don't like this turning against jim and pam thing. Also, it would be GREAT if people who quoted the show quoted correctly.

Didn't get this episode at all. A few isolated funny moments but overall, very strange. Where did the whole Ryan and drugs come from...and what the heck was Toby's reaction all about after he put his hand on Pam's Knee...i have to assume that will be explained in a future episode because that was just bizarre! Nope - didn't like this one.

this episode was one of the best ones in a while.• Michael is so much better single than with Jan.• Plus, seeing Jim screw up so badly made Michael seem less like an idiot.• This was the first time I have ever liked Ryan's character, at all.• Michael calling his mother while in the club.• The list continues.
It could have been better, but it feels more authentically "The Office" than anything else this season.

Am glad Kendra started a blog on that subject. After watching the "Night Out" episode, I thought to myself "wow, that episode definitely had a something different to it." So yeah, definitely a 10/10 from me.
And that Dwigth, oh my god, he cracked me up real bad this time too (last time he did that was in "Branch Wars" ...the moustache!). How he started the episode as a peanut-butter head massager to the only guy who pulled in that club was just wonderfully done.
But besides the fun, there were lots of nuggets like the scene where Toby puts his hand on Pam's knee, announces his trip to Costa Rica and disappears over the fence. I also liked the bit of rivalry between Ryan and Jim (i didn't expect that) and when Ryan says jokingly "watch ur back!"
Anyway for those who didn't get that episode, am sure there were episodes i didn't like but u guys did.

the only thing I didn't like about this episode was how jim and pam's relationship was portrayed. i've been rooting for these two to be together since they beginning!! something is definately gonna come between them (toby maybe? wait...he's moving to costa rica...:> haha) which really is a bummer because they've been wanting to be with each other for a long time. and jim never seems to look at pam when they were sitting with toby :( don't ruin this writers!i love it when micheal calls his mom. and he says "one of my friends is getting beat up by girls!" hahahaand dwight gets the girl! gooo dwight!and ryans one messed up dude. which is pretty funny cause i do not like him at all. i mean "stay real, scranton"? "peace"? oh gosh

The last three episodes have been amazing. I love how they've been mixing things up and avoiding being formulaic. We love Jim and Pam, so when they mess up really badly, it surprises us and justifies Michael's ineptness. And when Ryan sees them at the club, we expect him to be awkward, but he's psyched to see them, later finding out its because he's coked-up. Each episode has taken apart things that have been eluded to for a long time, but haven't been really fleshed out completely. Sometimes when shows do that it seems forced and can end anti-climactically, but I think they've totally pulled it off. We've known for a long time that Jan was crazy, but we didn't know how crazy. We knew things were getting serious with Pam and Jim, but not how serious (at least for Jim). We knew Ryan has changed since he went to New York, but we didn't know how much. Its been less goofy, which has taken me a bit of time to adjust to, but I think its bold of them to keep us on our toes and stay the creative, original comedy we've always love them for being, and I applaud there efforts. 10/10

OMG, this was probably one of my favorite episodes of all time! I love Jim but he was such a jack***! And as for someone commenting on how they portrayed Jim and Pam's relationship, do we not remember that all the girls in the office don't really like Pam and the guys in the office think Jim plays too many pranks? These people don;t like Jim and Pam like we do and we can say the same for them. Stanley doesn't like Jim at all anyway which is so hilarious! And the funny thing was he was so like Michael! Arrogant and then making mistakes, which was great! Good to see a different take on Jim, we see that he doesn't like just going to work and doing his job. He wishes he was in charge. Has no one noticed this before? And Michael and Dwight and Ryan out were hilarious!

"Good, not Great"I loved the club scenes but not how much everyone was ganging up on jim and pam, felt bad for them! So crazy with Ryan... and Toby!!! Also, does anyone know what that phone call was that everyone got at the same time while waiting in the loby?

I definitely feel like they were starting to push Jim in a Michael-ish direction, and while it's nice to mix things up, I really hope that that was a one-episode type deal; I really feel like I would stop watching if Jim were to stop being his usual, dorky, extremely nice-guy self. To respond to the one comment before about how Jim didn't look at Pam at all while they were sitting there, it's probably because they don't usually show PDA around the office or they're trying to downplay their relationship in front of people that they really don't care for
