House 'The Itch': To Scratch or not to Scratch?

It was wonderful to get House back after skipping a week for the election, which of course was quite important, but we were left with a bit of a House cliffhanger we all were dying to see more about!

In "The Itch," we picked up the day after the post-baby Huddy kiss of confusion, and while Cuddy tried to address the situation, House didn't do much more than blow it off, and joke with his team and later Wilson that he "hit that last night," and she was all crazy about it. Oh, House. Such the romantic.

We spent the whole episode with House bothered by an itch from a mosquito bite on his hand that he continued to pick at, which Wilson wisely equated to House being bothered by the Cuddy itch. The case also worked out ever so nicely with the Cuddy issue as House and his team, which turned much more to Cameron and Chase than the new team, treated an agoraphobic man who refused to leave his house.

The best moment of the case, besides the final meaningful moments it gave to the episode, was when the team was operating on the man in his house with his lawyer present and the patient briefly shot fire out of his open body because of the gas and whatever else was going on there... very cool, and dealt with ever so smoothly by House as usual as he told the lawyer it happened all the time!

As for those final meaningful moments the case gave, they discovered the guy actually had lead poisoning, which had nothing to do with his fear of leaving the house and being out in the world. This brought on a perfect triple effect final scene of the guy trying to deal with his fears and opening up by leaving the house, Cameron opening up and letting Chase have a drawer for staying at her place, and House trying to go over to Cuddy's and quit being afraid of his feelings and asking her out "like a normal person" (at 3 am), but only looking at her through the window, then walking away.

So now we're still left wondering what will become of House and Cuddy, if anything, but also what could become of Wilson and Cuddy, and what was really behind Wilson's admittance to Cuddy that he'd always had feelings for her. I don't think that really was all about pushing House to get jealous and act on his feelings for Cuddy as House really meant it when he asked Wilson about his feelings for Cuddy, reminding Wilson that he had asked Cuddy to dinner before Amber came in and took over his dating situation. So was that Wilson trying to make his move since he knew House wouldn't?

Wilson isn't a selfish person, but knowing House so well, did he know House would be more relieved than jealous if Wilson went out with Cuddy, so Wilson might as well get some happiness for himself? And as for Cuddy, it seemed she didn't have any inkling that Wilson could be for real, but she did seem to care if House was for real or not.

After the kiss in the previous episode, I wasn't feeling as if it'd be good for House and Cuddy to make a real go of it, but after this week's episode, I feel as if it could be a good development.

We don't need House to change into a nice person who's happy in a lasting, secure relationship, but we could use a House that doesn't always sabotage everything and who isn't entirely miserable all the time. He's had relationships before on the show, and he's proven he's still the same cynical guy and medical genius, just with an interesting romantic side-story.

Maybe, just maybe, now in the 5th season it's time to see how this Huddy flirtation could translate into a relationship... do you think they're ready? Do you think us fans are ready?

I wonder whether the old team is going to start playing a larger role in the episodes? it sure seams like they're setting it up that way.

I hope they are going to make the old team starts to play a larger role in the show they said that they weren't going to go away and for a wile it seemed like they did only appearing for one line

i love the old team, but i also like the new team, so i really hope one doesn't overshadow the other, for instance, they've spent a lot of time on 13 since the start of the new season, but this episode i only remember her having 3 or 4 significant lines. i know there is only so much air time, but, for example, they have yet to have House focus on Kutner at all.

I never like Chase and Cameron together, actually, I have always absolutely hated Chase. I also don't think House and Cuddy would do well together especially because I hate her too.

How about nobody ever uses the word "Huddy" again?Don't ruin one of my favorite shows by lowering it to the same level as those mindless tabloids.

It might be a weird question here.. but for you, Readtiludie, why watch the show if you hate so many characters on the show??I for one agree with taking House and Cuddy's relationship to anothe level, whichever level that might be. Since the beginning of the show, we knew they had some sort of connections, and it was only a matter of time before they actually did anything about it. I'm looking forward to seeing where this will lead us next week.

I think House and Cuddy would be great as long as House is still a jerk! I just hope that they get them (House & Cuddy) together soon, because I'd hate to relive a CSI-ish romance that strings me along FOREVER and then create this sham of a relationship, phony as ever to ultimately end it before it even went anywhere!! I won't do that again complete waste of time.

I really loved the last season even tho the WGA have blocked the series from taping for a certain time they managed to get the most of it. And what really took my breath away was the season finale. And as well as it made an impression on me it also made me have some big expectations from this season. And now things get complicated. The old team is getting more and more screen time (not that its a bad thing), House kissed Cuddy, Wilson said he loves Cuddy, Cuddy acted like a cold hart ***** and ignored the both of them. All that makes my expectations rise sky high. The only thing I would like this Christmas is that they don't mess it up!

sweet_little_bee, I don't hate a lot of characters on the show, I only hate two, the really annoying ones. I love the show and like all the other characters, Cameron is my favorite.
