ewwww.. They could've held out on making Zach the apprentice. I mean the build up wasnt big enough and then....hmmmm... but I LOVE Zach...I would've rather have Sweets b the apprentice...Zach was priceless. I hope he eventually goes back to the jeff.

It would be interesting if they do that whole 'Hannibal Lectar' type dynamic that Hanson mentioned in the interview. I have to say, even though they could have made the finale MUCH better, personally, I think it was one of the best episodes they made, right up there with Bones and Hodgins being buried alive. It was full of mystery, suspense and a bucketload of emotional tear-jerkers. I give it 10/10.

I like that he said that he said we won't see the last of Zack. That really excites me because Zack is my absolute favorite character. I so cried when he got blown up and when he was found to be the apprentice. I was sad about it, but I seriously didn't think about it, even after what Hodgins found out. It didn't click for a while, but aww... And I thought Sweets was going to be the apprentice. I like how they kept it hidden, about who it was. Really great way to shock the audience. I love the way Bones and Zack seemed to have that moment. It made it much more emotional, since Bones does seems cold, but wow! Eric did a phenomenal job bringing Zack to life. :]I'm going to be like counting down the days until the next season airs. xP

anyone else notice that zach couldn't have taken the gormagon skeleton? are we to assume that gormagon or "the master" took it.... what if there were more than one apprentice and sweets is the other one...
something to think about, huh?

Well I gotta admit I was shocked and disappointed in how the season ended. I'm sure the writers' strike had a lot to do with the sucky way the season ended so abruptly, but there were many ways that the season could have ended with just as big a punch, but in a way that made more sense. The gang will not be the same without Zach, and much like the season opening when Zach was in Iraq and Bones couldn't find a replacement, there doesn't seem to be anyone that can fill his shoes.

I actually didn't mind that black kid who was trying out for Zach's place in the beginning when Zach was in Iraq..

Well using what we know about all of the possible characters zach was the only viable option. It was omeone who worked full time at the Jeffersonian so booth and sweets are out. Bones is the one who defeated the gormagons logic so she wouldn't have been convinced that way and she is far to strong willed to be subjagated as zach was. Angela avoids the most brutal deaths so she doesn't have the potential to commit a cannabilistic murder. Hodgins is a possibility but I can't really see him being tricked by a member of an ancient organisation given that he is a conspiracy theorist. Finally cam well she is the only person at the lab as strong willed as bones and would be a difficult target. Zach was the one who would be easiest to manipulate and he is practically a sociopath.

Oh and he has previously stated that pure logic would be able to convince him of something. That is all he responds to.

Big fan of the show, but was pretty disappointed with the S3 finale.... Ok, I get it that the director thought this would "shake things up", and even with the reveal that a beloved character went to the dark side (which would shake things up,) for me there was no buildup or background as to why he went there, or no decent explanation anyway.... it felt all too anti-climactic to me... especially with the "master" being a nobody... Plus the hurried downplay of the Booth/Bones resolution interplay after the intense lead in from the previous episode was a let down as well, imho.

I definitely agree with AnnieB, I think the Hannibal Lectar scenario could be great. I really hope that they bring back Clark Edison (the black replacement) to take Zack's spot; the interactions between him and Zack in The Verdict in the Story were great! They could really do a lot with that.

I absolutely LOVE Zach and I was sooooo disappointed to see him go, but I thought it was an AMAZING finish. Eric did the greatest job. I agree that they should bring back Clark Edison because he was pretty good. Never as good as Zach, but still pretty good.I think I loved the most how Zach fully explained the reasoning behind him killing someone for Gormogon. Great great great show!!!
