Show Mash-ups: Create your own 'Defying Gravity' Inspired Mash-up! - Featured

ABC premieres its new space drama, Defying Gravity, this Sunday, from the creators of Grey's Anatomy. This newbie is basically going to be Grey's Anatomy in space...

...or if you want to be more frank about it, forget pigs in space, it's sex...in...space!

But wait, since show star Ron Livingston has something to say about it, he claims that Defying Gravity is more like "HBO's Apollo docudrama series From the Earth to the Moon."

So since Defying Gravity seems to be From the Earth to the Moon meets Grey's Anatomy, here at SideReel we figured we should have a little fun with this mashed up new show concept and make up our own show mash-ups!

For example, think how fun it would be to watch not just Gossip Girl, but Gossip Girl: CSI! We'll give those kids something to text about when they're solving some seriously gruesome Upper East Sider homicides! (Mmm, Detective Nate Archibald - now that would finally make his character interesting.)

So have some fun in the comments below describing what shows you'd mash together and how those mashed up shows would play out.

Also, if you're feeling particularly creative like SideReel's ldewald who made the amazing Grey's Anatomy in space image above, feel free to make and post your own mash-up image and we'll feature the best user mash-up!

I guess it's not really a show mash up exactly.. because Hugh Laurie is already the star of House.. but I'd like to at least see a few episodes with the cast of Blackadder on House. Hugh Laurie made the leap from zany British comedy to big-budget American drama.. I'd like to see what would happen if they threw Rowan Atkinson (also played Mr. Bean), Stephen Fry (.. either you know who he is or you don't.. and if you don't find out), Tony Robinson, Tim McInnerny and Miranda Richardson. Would be an interesting experiment. Also, I wouldn't mind seeing the cast from BSG in something like.. The Tudors, or Rome. It was a great cast and I would love to see them in an historical show.

I think Ugly betty and Buffy the vampire slayer should mashup, the two B's ould work together on slaying vampires, and finally buffy could get a job tha could pay for her house, everyones happy.
(And Willhelmina Would probably be the first evil)

I'd like to House and Lie to Me Mashed up, It would be fun to have Tim Roth and his team gang up on Hugh Laurie every time he's lying about something.

I'd like to see a mashup with The Sarah Connor Connor Chronicles and The Muppets, because the only thing scarier than a killer cyborg bent on destroying you would be a killer cyborg Miss Piggy bent on destroying you. =)

I think that a Heroes/Gossip Girl mix would be good. It's like heroes, but without the company.lolOr Pushing Daisies / Fringe. It'd be good to have more paranormalities in the Pushing World.

Ok, I have another one that I like more than my previous post. The Big Bang Theory meets The Sopranos. A bunch of uberdorks who somehow managed to become one of the major crime families in New York. They spend all of their time hanging out at the strip club they own, but being afraid to talk to any of the dancers.
