The Office 'Customer Survey': Trouble in Paradise?

*'Customer Survey' Spoilers Included!*

In this week's The Office, we finally got more JAM... kind of... and we got Jim and Dwight teaming up which actually worked surprisingly well for them for once without it all being about one playing a prank on the other.

So while Dwight and Jim investigated why they received bad customer surveys, Pam got to be in on it all while she and Jim hung out in their respective offices with "the world's smallest bluetooth" phones in their ears so they could talk all day without their offices knowing.

But as it turns out, there are moments both of them don't actually want to share with each other, even in their perfect Jim and Pam chummy adorableness.

The new friend of Pam's who seemed rather suspect of being interested in Pam appeared at corporate to talk to Pam about how he thought she needed to stay in New York, and that it'd be a waste for her to go back to Scranton so soon with so much of NY left to experience.

So what did you think of this bluetooth moment that actually brought awkwardness between our perfect couple? Will Pam realize being in Scranton with Jim is not what's right for her post-design school? Will this put more dangerous space (literally and figuratively) between Jim and Pam?

I do like having a bit of the PB & J angst back but I don't want them to break up! Alterna-Jim better keep his distance... Maybe Pam will get really famous in New York and then she can come back to Scranton to live a life of leisure with Jimbo?

I agree, brendaruth! I think the best for Jim and Pam would be to get jobs they actually like and enjoy city life as the young, fun couple they are! I don't think this would work well for the show, though, since the focus is on all of them being in the Scranton office for the most part, but maybe they could make it work somehow.

it was a stroke of luck that jim was on the phone and heard that pitch, without that i think pam would go through a huge dilemma on wether to talk to jim about it. personally, i think NY guy is right, but in all fairness, jim made practically the same argument in 'women in the workplace.'
also, anyone else think NY guy is being a presumptuous prick? don't get me wrong, i fear for jim a little cuz of him, but the relationship security isnt what i'm talkin about; pam is engaged, and its not like NY guy has known her long enough to say sh-t about what's right for her. its obvious NY guy has feelings for her, and i dont blame him for that, all guys have had feelings for unobtainable women, but its another thing entirely to actively make suggestions that could damage an otherwise perfectly healthy relationship. when pam was with roy (an un-healthy relationship btw), jim's comments were more along the lines of 'hey, think about what you just said,' not 'hey, i think he's bad for you.' there is a huge difference.
granted, NY guy is talking about her career, not her love life, but like i said, he knows that the man she love's is back in scranton, and not one word in his speech included the obvious solution that you others also came up with: 'can't your guy come up to NY?' i donno, maybe its me, but i thought it was a dick move.

I think the obvious dilemma regarding Jim simply "moving to NY" is that he just said that he's in the process of buying his parents' house from them so they can retire. The writers set it up so it of course can't be that cut and dry.
They're Jim and Pam, though! They can make this work!

I think Jim is going to wind up going to NY. But we'll see - that's why I love this show.

I completely agree that Alex (NY guy) is like Jim in season 2. We even saw it in the episode with the auction. When Jim tells Roy Pam was out all night with her friend, Roy replies, "You were her friend." So Jim gets paranoid and decides to drive to NY only to change his mind because he trusts Pam more than that.I can see why the writers decided to write this guy into the script but instead of seeming heartfelt like it was with Jim I just find it nerve racking. He doesn't really know Pam, but I think people are right, he is eventually going to tell Pam that he has feeling for her.

i think the difference is that when pam was with roy it was a poor relationship, where pam was feeing unfulfilled; but now she's with jim, who not only loves her madly, but also gets and supports her. thus even though Alex's rap is the same as season 2's jim, the situation is entirely different, so now instead of sounding helpful, he just sounds obnoxious.
anyone think that under different circumstances, jim an alex would be good friends? anyone else want them to meet (maybe duke it out over pam)?
