House 5.23 Discussion: Could Detox Lovin' Turn Real? - Featured

This week's House episode title, 'Under My Skin' wins the award for being the title that gets under MY skin the most knowing post-episode why that title is clever to the medical case of the dancer losing her skin, ugh! But hey, maybe that crazy (gross) case means House is back on board with off-the-wall unusual cases, in which case, I'll take the creepy crawly feeling of watching and thinking about it. But if the House writers were looking to get back on board with a focus on clever cases, this episode wasn't really the time to make the viewers care with everything else going on with our main characters!

Of course, the episode title applied to everything else going on with House and Wilson, Chase and Cameron, House and Amber, and most importantly, House and Cuddy. House turned to Wilson for help, and when he realized his problems were what he feared - the massive amount of Vicodin finally getting to him - he was like a little puddle of House telling Cuddy he needed her. Now moments like that would be cute if us viewers didn't always have to feel like Cuddy's going to end up getting hurt because of House closing the door again after letting her in.

But while that may happen, this episode could also have opened up once and for all the love we've been waiting for: Huddy! We saw at the end of the episode and had confirmed with the preview for next week that House and Cuddy did sleep together, so could this finally, finally mean they'll figure out if they could be together or not?

While I love the Huddy banter and sexual tension, there have been so many "almost" moments for them that now in Season 5, I think it's finally time for them to decide once and for all if they're going to be together or if they need to forget about those feelings forever.

So what do you think? Could the Huddy post-detox love-making turn into a real relationship? Has House finally gotten to a place in his life emotionally, mentally, and physically where he can admit his need for Cuddy more than his need to push everyone away? And if he is, can Cuddy trust him and love him for who he is? Share your thoughts!

the episode did also get under MY skin and i have the impression that there are a bunch of people saying this...i do love huddy, because they seem to be perfectly made for each other. that´s why house trusted only her to keep an eye on him while he was detoxing. but i do not think that they have future together. i would love seeing both always in love with each other, but house is so complicated that it wouldn´t last a long time. because of the fact that cuddy knows this she doesn´t even start a relationship.to sum it up: i hope they will be together, but i am sure that it isn´t supposed to work. worse luck!!!

I loved this episode! Yes I do believe that Cuddy and House belong to each other. Cuddy is the only one that can handle house and is the only one that can challenge him the way she does. They balance each other out. GO HUDDY!

You know what I'd love? I'd love for at the very least something like the relationship between Dr. Cox and his ex-wife Jordan Sullivan on Scrubs! Just for pete's sake allow HOUSE AND CUDDY to MAKE IT WORK! That would be fantastic. And House could still be himself, it is possible, despite being close to Cuddy, couples have their kind of banter and there could be a sort of functional dysfunction that keeps them together because I think Cuddy likes having her hands full. So I'm hoping the writers understand that this relationship could be opening new doors for the show, new to explore and show House to the public and a new way to expound on his personality, how a person like him would be in a relationship. I want to see it happen and goddammit that's gotta count for something!

I agree that I love the Huddy relationship. I liked seeing House finally admit his problem with pain pills, but only when it was absolutely necessary. Whatever reason, I enjoyed this episode. And the case was unusual and required the team to step up. But what is happening with Chase and Cameron! Is it over, or will Cameron get over her doubts? But what people haven't talked about is what House will be like without the pills. Let's hope he stays off of them. I think he needs to because his career (and the show) depends on it. I think Cuddy is perfect to help House. He actually respects her, so he may stay clean.I am SUPER excited about the season finale!!! Can't wait till next season!!!

I don't think detox is a one-night affair... What if the super hot huddy scene is a figment of House's hallucination? Cuz he did just wake up all fresh and pain-free and started making out with Cuddy, who was LEAVING a drug addict to go to the hospital? hmmmm.... *chewy*

Loved this episode and although I really hope that huddy does happen I have to agree with shilpi4 that house's detox went by too quickly and it is likely that they're just messing with us and the whole kiss was another hallucination. It will be interesting to see what happens next with house and cuddy and to see how he deals with his addiction now!

I've been waiting five seasons for this. I hope Cuddy does end up with House <3 (I was extremely jealous of her in this episode!)

Well, this is the second time they've slept together, I think it's a sign they keep coming back. I think it all depends on what the fan response is. If too many fans still crave for Cameron and House action, it's not going to happen. But, I think they'll get together in the final ever episode of House md. Or Wilson and House simply walk away and the camera zooms out.

This episode was amazing, i think i'm not lieing when i say a lot of people have been waiting for that for seasons! The Huddy big moment, But we all agree they surely won't be the lovely couple we'd hoped. Because The caracter are perfecly made for that but nobody really want to watch them like in a fairytail. I mean : What people love, and are waiting for in this show, is the love tension itself. So, i think they have feelings, but House won't change, and that's what Cuddy loves in him. 'remenber in this episode she says to House (not precisely) : "I thought that kind of lunatic guy was quite interresting". the Huddy post-detox love-making turn in a special kind of relationship. House is not gonna say : i love you, But all along the next episode they discuss about the after sex happening. All that to say ,'so excited about the next coming-up episodes!!!!

detox is definitely not a one night affair. not even with chemical help. i doubt he's hallucinating, cause then there would be strippers and drugs involved. in any case- i think they should have a torrid, but ultimately doomed affair. that would be hot, and keep us all salivating for more. besides, house never struck me as the romantic type... flowers? how bout a pro instead?
