On House this week, Lucas, the private detective continued to be House's right-hand man in Wilson's absence, and he even ended up giving us some more insight into the personal lives of House's new team that we haven't really delved into before. This led me to wondering if House viewers who generally don't care for the new team want to get to know them - hence our featured discussion of the week:
So this private investigator is certainly no Wilson, but he does bring some interesting new layers to the story like giving House far too much power as he had Lucas investigate the personal lives of his new team and Cuddy.
But even more interesting? Seeing House admit basically point blank that he has feelings for Cuddy when Lucas was talking about being into Cuddy and trying to work for her by getting info on House. Lucas noted that he believes they actually have the same objective (Cuddy), but they'll see who gets there first - and House actually later says that he figures he couldn't get Lucas to back off - interesting!
It's pretty clear House and Cuddy have always had an attraction, but neither have really admitted to it so clearly. I doubt this will change anything, but perhaps it's meant to lead to something later on?
It looks like Cuddy may be interested in Lucas, but if he's going to get the rumored spin-off, I doubt he'll be around long enough for that to matter.
Now, let's not forget the most ridiculous and interesting fact of the evening: House was a cheerleader! Oh, the many layers of House! How ridiculous.
But the sad part? As the ever so wise Lucas said (of the girl House was trying to impress in college, but clearly meaning Cuddy), "You wanted her to see you in a different light, but not only did she not see it, but she didn't think it was possible." Ouch. Luckily House had Lucas and their jazz duo to soothe him.
Besides these House-Cuddy revelations, the point of interest for the episode relating to the case of the painter on all sorts of experimental drugs lying to his girlfriend about it was the storyline of Taub and his wife. I don't believe we've ever gone home with any of the new team before, so it was interesting to delve into this personal story.
I haven't really cared about the new team, but seeing this story this week, I'm surprised to discover I want to know more about them. While details revealed like 13's Huntington's brings some layers to the characters, getting into their personal lives outside of the hospital just may be interesting, as long as it doesn't get too involved and it relates to the cases like it did this week.
It sounds as if Taub is going to have some confessing to do to his wife, so I'm guessing this story will continue, but then once it's resolved either in her leaving or them working it out, I don't know where this will go. I suppose it makes the relationship between Taub and House more interesting as he becomes yet another person House doesn't want to get close to, yet who's life he gets overly involved with in weird ways.
Now that I'm interested in as that's a big part of House that's so very lovable and offensive all at once.
After this revealing episode, are you looking forward to seeing more of the new team's stories unfold as well as more of the PI or would you rather just stick to the cases and get Wilson back already?
