Cancellation Buzz: Save Heroes! (again) - Featured

After the Heroes Season 4 premiere tanked in the ratings, we asked you Reelers if you thought we should save or sink Heroes.

While some of you fans waver on your Heroes love, a bunch of you think Heroes is showing great potential this season, and would love to see it get the chance to see the storylines through. With the continued sinking ratings for Heroes, then, it looks like it's time for us to save Heroes (again)!

Cancellation Danger Zone Status:

Heroes premiered its 4th season with 6.1 million viewers which was close to the Season 3 finale numbers, but in Season 3, the numbers continually dropped throughout the season, making it very questionable if Heroes would even get picked up for this new season, meaning numbers close to the Season 3 finale is already down a lot from what's needed for an NBC primetime show.

Now that there's no improvement in the ratings, and in fact since the premiere the ratings continue to drop to 5.4 million as of its 4th episode, Heroes is not looking so hot to be in the good graces of the big shots at NBC.

Part of the reason Heroes lived to see another day was fans like us campaigning to show we do love the show and want to see it carry on, so if we want that to happen again, it's time to jump start our campaign!

Here's what you can do to help:

*Watch it while it's airing on TV, and/or within 2 days on your DVR or online.

*Tell your friends to watch!

I think the only way to save Heroes is for them to abandon the present and set it in the future with Sylar as President, Claire, Parkman and the Haitian hunting down peoplePeter with a scar and that awesome Hiro who met Peter in the subway.

thier system is stupid there is a massive interest in the show oversea's, just online before every new ep airs the forums are buzzing now if only NBC got thier head out thier A** about marketing the show oversea's properly (ie not the bloody sci-fi channel which is looked over by 90% of people i know!!) they would see the show has potential beyond the US market....btw save the show it looks like they may finally be onto something this season!

Season 3 didn't work for me, but I'm still hoping for the best with this new season. I really want them to keep the show going, it's the most original show I've seen in awhile, and I'll be heartbroken if it gets axed for good. BE A HERO. SAVE HEROES! <3

1) Bryan Fuller is back. I am mourning Pushing Daisies more than words can say. Don't let that inconceivable and Emmy-award-winning show getting canceled be a complete loss. The "second part" of the past season kicked ass. This show is finally recognizable again. 2) This new system they have with the mid-season holiday break sucks. No wonder so many amazing shows are being canceled. With online viewing, DVR and this crappy 2-part season-system, the "rating" systems are effed. 3) The networks suck. They keep shitty shows like 5 "different" medical and cop shows but dump anything creative. Oh, and we mustn't forget the fantastic reality programming... Common! Heroes may not be the best show on TV but it was the one original show they were still pushing. If this gets canceled, nothing else has a chance.

I agree with the poster above season 2 was the last good season. The problem with heroes is that they keep switching writers. Then after some writers leave new ones come and then other come back. That is so stupid! Too many cooks in the one pot............ I think they need to sink it and move on!

I only discovered Heroes recently, and I would really hate to see it go, however, if the storylines dont improve to season 1 quality is there really any point in keeping it around. I really thought that Heroes was something new and different, but lately it just seems like more of the same.Saying that, I would like to see this season run through first. Who knows maybe there will be some improvements.

the deaf lady with the poewer to see sound in colors! thats AMAZING the effects are amazing i will watch the show just see her storyline but im afreaid because they always have the one seconday story line that only last one season and then they kind of forget about them. like what ever happened to the copycat girl? i loved that power. so cool.

When season one first started i thought brilliant!, super heroes every week, this has to be good.The story moved along every week and finding new heroes each week with new powers was enough to keep me hooked. It then ended in the biggest anticlimax of all time with hiro just stabbing sylar, great!, but the Volume 2 'generations' bit was enough to leave us wanting moreSeason 2 showed promise then the writers strike made it fizzle out making way for season 3.Even now i can't remember what happened, just lots random episodes where nobody did anything and the grand heroes storyline went nowhere.Season 4 shows a bit more promise now they've got T-Bag from prison break in it, but they are on they're last chance with me.Kill off Matt Parkman, he's crap!. His special power is to act like wood and look like he's smelling fartsStop having those sickly sweet father daughter moments with noah and claire, he should either get on with it and drop his pants or just move on.Kill off hiro and ando, they used to be good comic relief, but now i just want hiro to teleport up ando's ass, then off screen.In fact just take Sylar, Peter and eye candy Claire and reboot the entire series with decent writers, solid story arcs and more Superpowered showdowns, all fire and lightning and s**t. Word!

So I have watched all the episodes of this show and I feel that the show is about to go crazy in a good way with the new carnival plot. Alot of people haven't watched Heroes recently so they don't know that the show has actually gotten pretty good lately after its pretty bad period for most of season 3.

I tried this crap before but the brain trust at NBC dont care what we think. NBC used to be my fav network but the last few years they put out a good show and dont give it time and pull it or simply dont want to pay to keep the show going or finally start a show like heroes and the first 2 seasons went good then its like the writers get stupid and go the opposite direction of the original season and ruin the show. So while I hope they dont cancel this show they prob will and that will cut the shows I actually watch on NBC to 1 and that show doesnt start until Jan. I say cancel the CEO's contract over at NBC and get someone that actually put quality shows on the air and give it more than 2 episodes to make it.

The first season was AMAZING. That is the one thing everyone agrees on, season 3 onwards it went downhill. There are too many people and too many storylines, it becomes impossible at times to remember what is going on. I want to see it saved but it needs better writing as it is one of the most original shows on. Save Heroes!

It would be a lot easier to judge the actual numbers if they would post episodes online the night that the show airs (say, an hour or so after it ends) rather than waiting until the next day. I take night school classes and don't get home until two hours after the show ends, and end up watching it on a non-network website rather than waiting until the next day. Why? Because I don't want to accidentally read/hear spoilers before I get a chance to watch!

Season 4 is getting nowhere. Claire can never make up her mind about being normal- and the fake interview w/ her dad? cheese factor- Dangerously cheesy. Peter and Emma- yawn, boring me to tears. How does this play into the storyline, and is this romance actually going to develop into anything or disappear like the rest of peter's interests, or any relationships on the show for that matter? Hiro- Trying to go back and fix things for people while killing himself from internal tumors? this is promising. very disappointing story line considering hiro is one of my favorite characters Sylar/Nathan/Parkman thing- So is Sylar's "conscience" still stuck in Parkman, or did that just go away all of a sudden? And what is the point in changing Sylar to Nathan knowing that it probably won't last? The writers were good for season 1. That's it. Sorry Heroes, you had your chance. But if you don't get better really quickly, your airtime and your fan base are gonna be as nonexistent as Nathan Petrelli

I love the show. I think that if they are going to cancel it, at least give the show one more season so that they can end the show right. I hate it when a show is canceled and never gets that chance to end the way it should. I'm not saying that all shows can end as well as 6 Feet Under, but at least give it the chance to end with something rather than cut it off... =/

heroes is an excellent programme... im from the uk so i cant watch or stream it when it airs.... i would love it to continue and i know alot of ppl who would too.... but if they do decide to cancel the show i think they should end the whole thing tieing up all the loose ends that floating around, not like what they did with Reaper coz that really sucked..

I loved Heroes for a long time - even defended Season 3 to a lot of my friends who balked at it. I think I'm done now. The show has gotten worse and worse after season 1. I don't think they ever came out of the writer's strike slump, and they're just kind of grinding their gears and not going anywhere. I was happy to see Robert Knepper (T-Bag from Prison Break) this season, but I have already tired of the whole carnival storyline. It's moving so slowly that I find myself not caring any more. I'm also tired of the Sylar storyline. I know they have to resolve what those TERRIBLE writer of season 3 left them with, but it's leaving me bored as well. I though the ensemble cast was a great idea in the beginning, but not it's just too many stories to hold onto. And some of the good stories (like Micah, or his cousin who could copycat people, or the whole Nicki/Tracy having other sisters) get left unresolved. I think it's time to put this one-trick pony out to pasture.

The problem with Heroes is that every character eventually ends up back at square one, not having changed. I mean some f***** up things happen to them, but the characters don't seem to develop much. Now Dexter, thats a well written show, but I digress. Ultimately I watch Heroes for the special effects and the insanity of Sylar. To improve the show they really need to have some sort of story progression. Some major things happen every season and it ends up almost back at square one (I do realize people die). Claire still trying to fit in 'normal' life with her powers, Peter trying to be a hero, Ando and Hiro doing the same 'comedy' routine, if you can at times even call it that. That being said, I am about to watch the latest episode, cos it a lot better than watching Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives, ER or whatever similiar medical show is on (really how many stories can you tell involving just doctors and nurses? they all eventually end up at the same place).

The show isn't in danger at all. NBC is giving it one of the best primetime slots out there (Monday's at 8) Even if the live viewing ratings are a low the online numbers are pretty decent and NBC is giving it a whole expanded universe on the site in the form of the comics and everything.

I loved the first season, but the second and especially the third season couldn't match up (ergo a lot of people stopped watching it). But watching the new episodes I fing Heroes worth saving again. Please don't cancel it NBC.

The storyline completely lacks direction. I feel like the writers are making it up as they go along. Everyone agrees that the first two seasons rocked, but not enough people are looking at why the show went downhill. The quality has fallen because there is no common purpose. The only thing connecting the characters is their common past. In the last episode, while Hiro was back in time we got a new useless side story about Noah and an affair he didn't have while we could have of taking a closer look at an earlier side story that was dropped after one episode. There does not need to be a new character every week. I like what they are trying to do with the carnival storyline but they need to focus on developing the story more instead of wasting our time with meaningless digressions. If Heroes stays on the air, I'll keep watching. If it gets cancelled, I'll pretend it ended with the season three finale and never shed a tear.

The show should have ended have the first season. It's obvious that they had no idea how to explain anything so they shouldn't have been given the chance rather than having several contrived explanations for why people have powers: it's in the blood, it's in the adrenal glands, it's some weird magic power.

Save Heroes. They're trying to fix it... stupid writers strike.... It's a fantastic show. The only one I like that challenges me intellectually. Bring back Adam. Make the writers sit together for a week straight and FIX THE PROBLEMS, which are vast and plenty. Start to make Future Hiro and Future Peter... start to create we we've been waiting for. Save Heroes. Save Heroes. Save Heroes.

Lets face it, Heroes has run its course. They should have continued with at least one solid storyline but they keep switching gears and it irritates the heck outta me - and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Like Caitlin abandoned in the future, the Hiro Peter met on the subway (with the sword), Rebel/Micah, Molly, Mohindar's search for his family's secrets, etc. Now there is a new story - the Carnival people, and there's just too much going on now to follow (unless of course we just disregard most of what we've seen in past seasons and that just makes no sense!) Oh and letting go of Adrian Pasdar/Nathan Petrelli - HUGE mistake! I say this season kill Sylar (and at least wrap that never-ending story up) and say goodbye.

Monday ?... there is a lot of competition for Monday night... as there has always been ... but who wants to watch Heroes over House? i watch House and Heroes later,,, I think that if it was put on a different night... it would do AMAZING!! just a thought??...but love ya Heroes Crew!!xoxoAriel
