Betty's Back! What do you think of Betty's choice?

At the end of last season of Ugly Betty we were left with the jumbo-cliffhanger:

Would Betty choose getting engaged to Henry and moving to Tucson, going to Italy with Gio or neither?

And so finally we got our answer in the Season 3 premiere!

*Spoiler Alert!*

It seemed pretty well set up for the possibility of her choosing neither of the guys considering her circumstances, so I wasn't very surprised, with this choice for Betty, but after the premiere, I think this choice is going to be the most fun and interesting to watch play out.

In the first season, we met Betty who was on the road to finding herself, her confidence, her career path, and yes, love. I want happiness for this dear character, so if it had seemed best for her to choose a guy, that would've been great, but I think leaving her options and story so open like this is much more exciting and great for the show!

So do you agree? Was this a good choice for Betty or do you wish she'd gone with either Henry or Gio?

I don't know what to say except "extremely disappointed" as my reaction to the Season 3 premiere. I LOVED seasons 1 and 2 of Ugly Betty. The weak link in the show was Henry. I liked him in Season 1 but that story dragged on for too long after we all knew that things wouldn't work out with his girlfriend Charlie going back to Tucson with his baby. But I was not ready to see Gio go. I think the way Betty treated him was pretty bad. I was pleasantly surprised at how his character developed throughout Season 2. I think Freddy Rodriguez who plays Gio is a great actor. I wasn't expecting to end up liking Gio so much that I'd be rooting for Betty to pick him in the season finale. I'm sad that Gio won't be a regular character. I'd love to see those two together. I'm pretty upset about it. I also don't like this new attitude that Betty has. I guess it's all part of Betty growing up and becoming more cosmopolitan and glamorous but I'm not liking it all that much so far. I hope the writers figure out where to take this show with so many changes after their decision to move to New York. I'm glad they got rid of the love triangle but I'm not sure if I'm on board with everything else.

well I dont know exactly what I would like, but I was ready for dramatic changes like Betty losing both pounds and her braces, and being the talk of the town, hooking up with Daniel and being mean and wild a little while, it would have been time also for other characters to see greater development in their lives and a real drama! I dream about Betty launching her own magazine with her own taste of things, and being a success!!!! that would be definitely "fierce"! but well, with the variety of new shows, and the return of a few genres that I like (vampire) I'll find some real entertainement!

I love Ugly Betty, and this season is going to be fun to watch, just by watching the first episode. I hope they do a little makeover with Betty's personal style though.

I did not like the season 3 premiere AT ALL. I lost interest in Ugly Betty around the time Henry became a daddy last season and kept watching to see if it would get better. Unfortunately, it hasn't. I didn't laugh once last night, so I must say R.I.P. to Ugly Betty's season pass on my TiVo.

I must say I liked this episode. I agree, it wasnt as funny as before, but I was glad she chose neither of the boys. I think there should have been more Mark and Amanda action and a little bit more fun, but I guess thats still coming. A BIG save for the episode was the new guy Jessie. Its predictable what will happen between betty and him, but I wont mind looking at that face..
