House Spinoff in the Works!

Apparently spinoffs are the new reality show for networks without new ideas.

Though it's been kept quiet, a House spinoff is in the works for next season!

According to TV Guide's Michael Ausiello:

"As I understand it, producers are introducing a new male character for a multi-episode arc and, assuming the actor they find really pops in the role, he may be spun off into his own show. But there's a twist, and it's a big one: Per multiple sources, this newbie is not a doctor, but rather a private investigator!"

Intriguing! As usual with spinoffs, there's a chance for greatness or total disaster - thoughts?

I dont know how this will work....in my opinion spinoffs rarely turn out great...house is such a great show the way it is they should just leave it alone

i agree... why change what's already good?but the producers are probably thinking about the longevity of House as a show, and how they can continue to keep maing money after House is done...which is hopefully not any time soon.

i am hoping it will be Stephen Fry who was supposed to be on House last season but did bones instead. Him and House together again would be great

House without the charm and bedside manner of House himself? Sounds lame. No thank you!

I'm not really into spinoffs, having said that i do think that Stephen Fry would be great. I'd love to see him pair up with Laurie again. A bit of Fry and Laurie was one of my favourites! I do hope you're right badd24u.

i think they should be happy that they already have this awsome show, that it's doing so well, and not try to ruin it!i don't want the spinoff to ruin the house that i have come to love!

I don't see how it can ruin anything as spin offs tend to be different shows all together, such as the practice on to Boston legal, smiler but completely different at the same time and nothing got ruined. Can only bring good things in my eyes.

i think that even as a spinoff that House will be a tough act to follow.Would like to see either Stephen Fry or Emma Thompson to appear on theshow. I would think either one would be a as Wilson says, "a postive forcein the universe."

Tritter! He was brilliant. David Morse has seldom had such a good role.

Ugh. I hated Tritter, he was so annoying.I'm opposed to a spin-off because of what happened to Grey's Anatomy when they started Private Practice: they got so wrapped up in creating P.P. that they lost track of the G.A. characters and the whole show got totally screwed up for a while.
