Featured Cancellation Buzz: Save Heroes!

Heroes' Status:

Heroes has been struggling in viewership since Season 2's loss of many fans' interest due to too many new character stories and also the big break because of the writers' strike.

The Season 3 premiere was promoted very prominently, but still didn't deliver as well as NBC and the Heroes cast and crew were hoping. While the Season 2 December 2007 finale brought in 11.06 million viewers, the Season 3 September 2008 premiere brought 9.89 million for the full 2-hour event, and after the premiere, only dropped through the midseason finale which brought in 7.78. Also note that Season 2 started out with 16.97 million then dropped to 11.96 by the second episode, and only went down from there, then jumped back up a bit for that 11.06 finale... really makes that 7.78 sting a bit!

Now that Kristen Bell is gone they lost a few hundred thousand viewers Heroes doesn't work with me any more. I will still watch it but if it gets cancelled I'm like I don't mind I'm waiting for Fanboys or When in Rome

Heroes...I'd rather say goodbye to you than to Chuck. Sorry...but this show has really gone down the "pooper" as we say.
So much wasted brilliance since the first season.

I heard that the execs over at NBC liked the what they've done with the fourth volume and already ordered another season. And That this fourth volume is going back to the way of the first season that everybody loved so much.

it lost fans because its to undeliverable now..don't get me wrong,i still watch it, but come-on, look at it now..50 new characters constantly picking a the core story line...Heroes is getting stretched out until it will be canceled.

With the old writers back on the fourth volume...well, there's too much damage. Yeah, I'll watch...but I dunno. I don't even care much about all these characters anymore.
How can something so good become so tragically hard to watch?

I watched heroes season 1 when it first came out and I remember thinking, I can't wait until the next season comes out. But after actually watching season 2 i was like this is awful. And I haven't been back since, so i understand why people ain't watching. I will watch the next if it doesn't get canceled, but If it does, meh, there are better things to watch.

There is always a problem with shows based on revealing "the secret." Either you refuse to reveal, like Lost, and become boring and frustrating or you reveal the truth only to present another secret, like Heroes, and become confusing and frustrating. Can the show decide on a plot line like a battle between enhanced and normals and work stories into the plot? Is that what is in store for the latest season? I certainly hope so because if Heroes continues the way it has since season one it is certainly doomed.

has anyone ever considered the fact that maybe people are busy and can't watch the show, so they record it or watch it online. they can't base everything on who watches it when it premieres. either way those are still high numbers, and that would be a lot of disapointed fans...

I, too, became obsessed with the first season, and got my husband hoooked in spite of himself. But after the first season, our enthusiasm just waned. The writer's strike took a lot of the wind out of our sails, too. Now... well, I don't want it to get cancelled, but I can't remember the last time I watched it, either. Too many storylines, like everyone says.

shows like Heroes should grow every year eg.
year one - save your friends form a bad guyyear two - save the city from a bigger bad guy... leading tofinal year - save the universe from the biggest bad guys
but heroes has got this backwards - the bad guys have got less impressive and there is less at stake for the characters.
there is also no emotion to the show - no big emotional love stories/triangles no tragic death of anyone important so there is nothing for the viewers to focus on other than a weak storyline drifting from one issue to the next without resolution
Sylar is the biggest bad guy and the most interesting character they have but he's not trying to destroy the world he's looking for his biological parents and thats just not interesting enough to hold my attention
if they wanna save the show they need to shake things up with some fantastic story lines - but i can't see it happening

I wish people would be patient, and give this new volume a chance. Three episodes so far, and already the reviews/feedback are incredible!
Give it a chance; with the old team back, they're going to be weeding out all of the stupidity that the old tards in Season 3 got up to. Patience is a virtue, and if you really are a loyal fan of Heroes then you will give this show a chance.
Yes, I'm angry at what happened with the shitty Season 3, but the 4th volume has restored my faith in this show. Wish it would do so to the rest of you guys.
