Uh oh...and it was the 100th episode so it was supposed to be extra spectacular! I thought the suits musical was cute - and I laughed at the organ donation bit for Barney's suit that got ruined, but overall I thought there have definitely been stronger episodes in earlier seasons.I'm pretty much sick of them bringing it back to the mother at this point because it all so clearly is a tease. It's fine if they don't introduce us to the mother until the end of the show - that's what I am expecting at this point - but episodes that put any focus now on minutiae like the yellow umbrella or Ted's first class that the mother was in...any time devoted to that at all now I view not as 'providing clues' but as filler/waste of time.

I laughed. Lots. :D
What I noticed is that it managed to tie in all the characters' themes- Barney's womanizing and suits, Ted's search for the mother, Marshall's love for Lily and her inability to accept that he's REALLY that great, and Robin's vainness. I don't think it was their best episode, but it was a great presentation of all of them. I was surprised and sorry that it was over, and that, I think, is the hallmark of a good episode.
I doubt that the mother's arrival will be the end of the show- though I do suspect that Ted meeting her will end this season. (There will probably be at least a season of dating, etc) We're now past hints with the mother- we know where she lives! And she seems closer than ever after this episode. Of course, it's impossible to provide true clues for an actress who hasn't even been cast yet, so I take it all in stride and focus on overall show and not the starter plot.

I'll say it wasn't up to the show's normal snuff bu no laughs AT ALL?! It made me laugh but I do agree with RachelL about the tease. But I found it nice to see that they are getting close to the mom and going somewhere with it. But It will set up great episodes after this that will tie into their relationship, I can only see great humor involving the mother's apartment and the McLaren's gang.

I heard that they're aiming for 10 seasons, and telling us where the mother lives, and loads about her, at this point seems a bit annoying. Although i still like the show, i admit that it's loosing its touch. I laughed at moments, and the musical was great, but it really doesn't seem as great as the first seasons.

@NoldeaThey should have 5 more seasons atleast ... reason..Ted talks to kids in 2030and the oldest kid looks 15yrs oldso ted should have met her mother 16yrs back...and provided they spend a season on how he wooed her.. that makes it 17 yrsso 2030-17 = 2013
so that makes it 4 seasons till he meets herand 1 season till he marries her
So even if they meet we will come to know only in 2013 ... till then happy viewing...These guys have secured jobs till 2013....
And Yes 100 th episode was lame....
