This show is getting out there.

Okay, so I think that we can all agree that this show isn't particularly realistic. Sure, it's got it's moments-- teen sex, pregnancy, divorce, hook ups... but more and more, this show going from relatable and real-ish to just a teen soap opera. Amy is getting more and more annoying and vapid (this last episode, where she went into labor, I just wanted to smack her, pregnant or no), Anne is getting more and more enabling, and Ricky is getting more sympathetic... which kind of annoys me even more, because the tween cries of "Ricky is so hot, I want Amy to dump Ben for him" are getting more shrill and deafening. If you visit the ABC family message board for this show, you'll see mad support for this idea, as well as for the idea of 15 yr old Amy keeping her baby.

I started off being guiltily addicted to this show, and now... now, I don't know. I still am watching it, but it's getting more and more annoying. I don't know if it's going to be able to sustain past the first season. Anyone else feeling this way? Or vehemently disagreeing? Or have any comments whatsoever? Please tell me that I wasn't the only one wanting to smack Amy (as I have almost every episode of the show)!

bengela - you are 100% correct! In fact, I only watched the first few episodes of the series since its return this year and have the rest on my DVR, though I am tempted every day to delete them. But even early on since these new episodes have premiered, Amy's presumption that her mother would just deal with everything was beyond immature; it was insufferable. Amy as a whole has become insufferable.I agree the show has deteriorated from guilty pleasure into...a chore to watch.Maybe I'll go delete those episodes right now...!

i agree too! its completely unrealistic. epsecially the part where EVERYONE seemed to want amy to keep the baby. her sister, her father, her mother just wanted to support her and she wanted to keep it so...Also, Ben..her boyfriend wanted her to keep another guy's baby?? seriously? and Ricky - the guy who just wants to have sex with every girl he meets..he also wants her to keep the baby?? come on!!

well if you have ever met a pregnant 15 year old that is exactly how they act. they assume they will have the baby and their parents will support it and take care of it.is it just me or do people not like it because it is realistic?if they had it that she got pregnant and all of sudden matured then it would be stupidly unrealistic.don't forget that the character is a 15 year old who has only ever had sex once and obviously wasn't mature enough to do it.don't forget that it is a character who is meant to be immature.

I love it!!! I think it's totally realistic and i mean literally all of it. Amy is the most annoying character i've ever seen on any show but that is my only negative point about. Also i completely love Ricky and no it's not because he's hot or anything like that. I just love the complexity of his character and he's practically the double of Jess from gilmore girls (personality wise) which you've gotta admit is a great character.I very recently fell in love with the show and up until now One Tree Hill has been my all time favourite show (EVER) but i can honestly say that i'm more excited about the new season than i am about One Tree Hills.Seriously though - Amy is the whiniest character ever and her and Ben together is sooooo boring. I'm actually fed up with them. I hope they split up this season even if it means her and ricky get together, which i hope doesn't happen because i love the Ricky/Adrian relationship. What are the ship names btw?
