Okay, so I think that we can all agree that this show isn't particularly realistic. Sure, it's got it's moments-- teen sex, pregnancy, divorce, hook ups... but more and more, this show going from relatable and real-ish to just a teen soap opera. Amy is getting more and more annoying and vapid (this last episode, where she went into labor, I just wanted to smack her, pregnant or no), Anne is getting more and more enabling, and Ricky is getting more sympathetic... which kind of annoys me even more, because the tween cries of "Ricky is so hot, I want Amy to dump Ben for him" are getting more shrill and deafening. If you visit the ABC family message board for this show, you'll see mad support for this idea, as well as for the idea of 15 yr old Amy keeping her baby.
I started off being guiltily addicted to this show, and now... now, I don't know. I still am watching it, but it's getting more and more annoying. I don't know if it's going to be able to sustain past the first season. Anyone else feeling this way? Or vehemently disagreeing? Or have any comments whatsoever? Please tell me that I wasn't the only one wanting to smack Amy (as I have almost every episode of the show)!
