Yaay, Taggart's Back! (Season 3, Episode 17)

Ok, he's back for this epi, at least, and maybe the next. The description for next week's episode indicates something about Tess receiving a job offer in Australia, so I'm thinking he has some connection with that and may be in the season finale. I was so happy to see Taggart! He's so fun and jovial...his being there reminded me of the good 'ole days on Eureka. I hope tptb realize his value to the show and bring him back. Maybe they could exchange him out w/Tess, you know: she can take that job offer in Australia and he can come back to reside in Eureka...and Tess could remain in Australia (communicating with Carter through vid chat, from time to time), but eventually the long-distance thing grows old, and they both realize that it's time to let it go...and Tess would never be seen by the Eurekans again...The End. I like that thought... I think I'll keep it : )

For the most part, I enjoyed this epi (minus most of the scenes w/Tess in them...she was alright in some, but hella annoying in most). I was glad to see Allison's cameo (via vid chat) in the beginning, and missed Henry, but guess what? Joe Morton was directing this episode! I thought he did a pretty good job.

My other thoughts while watching this epi:

1) All the talk in the beginning about Carter & Tess' relationship was REALLY turning my stomach, UGH... : P

2) Kudos to the Russian guy for calling Tess a substitute : D

3) I really want Taggart to come back...he's fun and I miss him on Eureka : (

4) I think Zane is good playing a bad guy...I think they should have him turn out to be a spy for the Consortium or something. I've always thought he was more interesting with an edge to him, although he was cold-blooded in this one...whew...don't get on his bad side Jo... :O

5) I'm glad Jo & Taggart made up and are friends again : )

6) It was sweet when Zoe's boyfriend told her he always knew she wasn't like 99.8% of other people, and then they kissed...awww : )

7) S.A.R.A.H. was funny as usual...I wanted her to keep talking through that little scene at the end, and was glad when Zoe interrupted the date proceedings : D

8) Although the substitute stayed at Carter's, I'm glad they didn't show anymore than them sitting on the couch w/ her hand on his leg (and that was more than enough, believe me : P ). I thought the sitting in front of the fireplace was romantic, though (just the wrong couple-combo, but it's ok...she's just there as a plot point...hopefully...)

LOL I totally agree. Let Australia take Tess and let us keep Taggert! I was so excited to see him return. I hope this means he'll be back next season...

I know you ladies dont like Tes.s but I think she did okay that episode. I liked the whole live life now bit they had and I like the end them at the fireplace I thought it was cute
Plz dont try and kill me starry :PI know you have an entire room where you havepictures of Tess's face crossed out with red marker all over the walls, some of her "borrowed" personal items, and an altar where you practice animal sacrifice to thwart her ultimate plan of being with Jack. HAHA Im just kidding :P It would be funny if you did tho :D
I thought the whole bit with Zoe's boyfriend was massively corny (not only is the guy who plays him a horrible actor but so is the character in general; she could do a lot better) but at least he realized he was making her do something she didnt want to do.
Speaking of Taggert I dont think they will bring him back. I mean he had a place early on in the series but it just seems as if he is out of place now. Dont know what they would really do with his character that would stay interesting.

LOL...hey, wait a minute, that might work travellerjohn...I mean, along with a voodoo doll and a sufficient amount of needles, that may be what it takes to get her off the show...LOL :D
I actually agree with you about the whole Zoe/boyfriend thing, and thought most of it was boring, but I mentioned that b/c I was glad he ended up supporting her, and thought their little "moment" was cute. They could have cut the rest out, actually...maybe those scenes would have been better, had they cast a more interesting and attractive boyfriend...his smile was cute at the end though : )
Aww...say it ain't so : ( I don't think he's out of place...how so? He's funny, interesting, and a likable character...that fits in perfectly in Eureka. I think patching things up with Jo, on a friendship-level, allows him to come back and just be crazy Taggart, without having to be w/Jo, since that slot is filled. They can write interesting lines for him just like they did before, and like they continue to do for Fargo. Bringing back Taggart as another comic relief, would help keep the show interesting, from a comedic standpoint. Fargo is still funny, but could get to be a bit overused in that role...

Here's an article on Sci Fi Wire that indicates we may see him in an epi next season:

The one thing that episode definitely confirmed was the fact that Jo and Zane have zero chemistry! Noble gases have more chemistry :P {science joke hope everyone gets it dont be too hard on it I just made it up of the top of my head :D } For an even nerdier joke you could replace "noble gases" with two of the actual gases.
What is Taggert really going to be doing if they bring him back in the show tho? Chasing animals? blowing stuff up? Well I guess they could bring him back but he really wouldnt have that much airtime with all of the new characters they have brought in since he left.

ITA on Jo and Zane...why don't the show people see that? They're trying to push this relationship, but there's nothing there...did you notice Zane and Tess in a scene together? This scene was shorter than the last one they were in together, so you couldn't really se it much, but I still think they have way more chemistry than he and Jo...btw, I got the noble gases joke, lol... 8 )
Idk...good writers could come up with something for him to say and do...he wasn't really a character who was in every episode anyways, so putting him in a handful of epis next season would be on par with the previous frequency with which he appeared on the show. Also, Matt Frewer may be too busy to be more than a recurring actor on the show...I read on imdb that he's in a number of upcoming films...one of them is Tim Burton's version of Alice In Wonderland.
Btw, here's a fun fact (if you were a kid in the 80's, that is...):
Did you know that he was Max Headroom? I just found that out today when I was looking for pics.

As soon as I saw a shape walking out of the tunnel I knew it would be him...he had that ironic swagger that only he can pull off...sort of his calling card that has nothing to do with that ridiculous accent, I do hope they bring him back...he makes the show fun just by being there...such as that episode where he blindfolded himself to lead people to safety and promptly walked straight into the wall, predictable but really comical.
Keep him in.

Well, he was kind of funny to watch, back when I was a kid...I love the 80's...Jim Carrey totally stole his act and used it in just about every comedy he has done...
Sparhawke, I was glad to see him walking out of the shadows with his crazy self & I also thought it was funny when he walked into the wall in that epi...I remember expecting it to happen and still laughing when it did. : )
