I remember as a teenager these books giving me my start for the love of Vampires. Someone mentioned Elena having blonde, yes. Scrolling through information they have changed Bonnie as well, and it is looking like she has a brother who is older, instead of the 4 year old doll we fell in love with. I am interested to see where they go with this. As for a rip of Twilight. LJ Smith is by far the better writer. I lost myself in those 4 books many a night, passing it back and forth as my best friend and I read it aloud. Very many fond memories of falling in love with Stefan as Elena did. But where is that dreamy Italian accent of his... Scuzi me? Scuzi you? Scuzi jaccuzi. Kinda frightening I remember that after at least 15 years. I hope the writers and CW do it justice. I will be there best friend in tow to see what happens.

I as well read the books awhile back. I recently gave them up to my niece when she fell in love with Twilight. Im curious to see where the show goes since, if I remember correctly, the books spanned like one year in Elena's life. Hopefully they can turn it into a great show, stretch it out, without losing the real characters.
