Stop Hating on Legend of the Seeker, Book Readers !

Ok so yes legend of the seeker is not exactly the same as the books. But really what tv show based on a book mimics everything that happens exactly.

EXAMPLE:

Gossip girl : i read all the books of the series and i watch all the episodes of gossip girl tv show both are great and both don't have the exact same storyline the structure of plot of the novels and show are the is the same but the storylines are totally different. Example of major difference is Vanessa she is sposed to be this bald pale skinned black-loving gothic photographer/artist. But in the show she is girly and isn't bald and she is dating Nate for gods sake but the show is still great!! Its the most talked about show thats on tv today.

People just suck it up and enjoy this awesome show!!

cause its great!

I am wth you on this one. I read the books thru and thru... and when i learned that there would be a show based from the books i flipped. But i remember the frst thing my friend and i talked about was; would we rather a paralled story or a fresh new one. no we didn't get either really. and at first i was dissapointed and scared even for the show. but then i watched it thru a second time, with some friends that have never read the book. and i got caught up in the story all together with them. sure it might not be as engrossing. but its a new adventure all in itself. now the only thing i am scared off is all the readers becoming so jaded and stop watching, i don't want this show to be cancelled.E.

i cant speak for any of the other "haters", but complaining about something doesnt mean you hate it. when people complain about family or spouses or what have you, it doesnt mean they hate it. it usually just means they were expecting something different. it's a good show, but people are still gonna question it and compare it to the books. the readers arent going to stop watching unless the show itself gets slow. readers want to watch the show because, as much as it differs from the books we love, it's still based on the same world we love from those books. we're curious. when we complain, consider it a compliment to the show. we still watch it and love to talk about it. if you read a book then watch the movie, there's always good and bad things to say about it. if any of us really hated it, we wouldnt bother complaining.

what show mimics the books?true blood. that is so much like the books. very very close. this on the other hand is completely different. the only thing it shares with the books so far is character names. I can't believe terry gave it his stamp of approval!

I agree with Melaku on this one. So far nothing is the same as the books at all. Maybe a few general things here & there like character names, magic, & the different countries locations but that is about it. Sam Raimi you FAIL yet again, thanx for ruining another favorite.
Now as far as it being a TV show not based on anything & just another Hercules/Xena spin off. This show is great then lol.

I am actually happy that they did not just clone the books. The books were good in their own way and would make great movies but had they cloned the books the show would have been filled with long stretches of character development over the course of several episodes followed by one or two spurts of action. For a TV show that kind of format would have been suicidal. But I think like a lot of fans my fear is that by leaving out several important developments in the book they are going to have to do a lot of back tracking to explain everything i.e. how can Khalan and Richard be together? Why does Denna help Richard on several occasions? Who are the mud people? And personally I think a lot of the "haters" are really just fans concerned with maintaining the integrity of the story rather than cloning the books and so when they see important elements left out (such as the ones above) they get understandably miffed.
