House's prediction has come true.

Remember the episode from season 1 episode 17 'The Role Model'? In that episode didn't House told the Black senator, and I quote " Someday there will be a black president". Well hasn't his prediction has come true. I mean, Barak Obama being the first black president of America. I don't remember the episode so well may be you can identify and currect my mistakes.

Anyway, I just thought about that episode and wanted to share it with you. Please leave any comments you might want to do about 'The Role Model' & American Election '08.

P. S. Please pardon My English, I don't write much, so my english is bit rusty.

he actually said it wasn't gonna happen within his lifetime . . . which has yet to happen, i mean, for all intensive purposes, obama still isnt president yet (and house is after all a fictional character), but still, way to go reality disproving the cynical critique of a fictional drug addict! yea!

Off topic, but I do need to grammar nazi a bit so others don't make this same mistake: "intents and purposes" - It's a common mistake, so don't feel bad. Just try not to make it in the future because some people can be real arseholes about it. :-( I used to be friends with someone who was militant about trying to make people feel like crap for making such mistakes. Take care!

huh . . . yea, that does make more sense now that i think abt it . . . thought i still think 'intensive' sounds better, but your right, its not really an 'intense' purpose. wow, the things we say without thinking .

Frankly, I think is real generic 'prediction', if its even one. I'm sure tons of people have said that. Now, if he had said "black president, 2008", then we have something to talk about

i agree with blessedbe, it was bound to happen sometime, and to disprove your House logic with House logic: in season four episode "you don't want to know" house predicts that every one of his team's pagers will go off and a minute later, they do. House states "No, close doesn't count" so sorry, this is little more than a coincidence

um, dont think of it as a prediction so much as social commentary; House's statement reflected the sentiment that Americans were still so intolerant that they wouldn't vote for an otherwise acceptable presidential candidate due to the color of their skin. he also expressed that one day they would be able to look past that an would finally be able to chose based on politics rather then physical qualities. although i dont think all Americans have reached that standard, i think we're much closer to it then we were at any other point in our history.

Bah...
I could say that in the next 5 years there'll be a terrorist attackt that will kill over 1000 people (grim, I know, my apologies), if it happens I can bring it up and claim I'm psychic, if it doesn't no one is going to pick me up on it.

Even better! In 1968 Kennedy like right before he was shot, said he wouldn't be surprised if 40 years from now we elected a black president. In Case youre not good at math..1968 + 40 = 2008!!!
