Was it a mistake or something they did not care about in the show??

May be most or all people did not notice, but I did. In LOST final season episode 1, there was a mistake. When Sayid was looking at Nadia's photo inside his passport, I noticed something. The customs declaration form that he was holding in his hands stated that he is an Iraqi. However, his passport clearly reads that it is issued by the Islamic Republic of Iran. Have they thought about carefully or it was something that they thought nobody will notice and they did not care about? I would be grateful if anyone explains it to me.

Thanks

It was just an error. Others include:
* The Swan implosion crater is very different from previous versions in past seasons. It is much wider, less deep, easier to get into, and has a pile of junk in the center where the anomaly attracted it.* When Sayid is removed from the spring, his hair is soaking wet. Just a few seconds later, when he's being laid on the ground, his hair is much drier.* When Sawyer finds Juliet at the Swan site, her hands move into various positions between shots, though she is obviously unconcious at the time.* The door to the stall Kate is in at LAX is the only stall with a hinge that allows the door to swing out (piano hinge along the outside)* Jack's hair is much longer in the parallel universe than it was in season 1 as is Sun's. Also Charlie's is much shorter.

Wow, talk about attention to details! I didn't see his passport country. But considering the amount of detail and forethought (at least I hope there is planning involved!) the writers give the show it has to be something more then another simple continuity error like what was mentioned above.
There were a few other major/minor details that changed in the "flash sideways"-Jack only got one vodka bottle instead of two-Jack was scared of fly and rose comforted him instead of the other way around-Hurley is nothing but pure luck instead of bad luck-Shannon never got on the plane!
So maybe it was a simple over look and someone is kicking themselves right now about Sayids' passport but considering those other things, I don't know... Maybe he change nationalities? It's a fake?

More likely you have uncovered a production point rather than a mistake.

Im sure the writers know we'll question everything. So they probably put these minor continuity errors in to give us something to talk about.
