Supernatural Plot Theory

The supernatural creaters put a lot more thought into Supernatural then anyone thinks.

Sam, who posseses supernatural powers and whom the demons believed would lead them is actually another name for Samael.

Hebrew beliefes state that Samael is an archangel, a figure who is accuser, seducer and destroyer, and has been regarded as both good and evil.

Also called Sammael and Samil (and is even sometimes confused with Satan) he is considered in legend both a member of the heavenly host (with often grim and destructive duties) and a fallen angel, equatable with Satan and the chief of the evil spirits. One of Samael's greatest roles in Jewish lore is that of the Angel of Death. In this capacity he is a fell angel but nevertheless remains one of the Lord's servants.

Beliefs describe Samael as a "Power", being the chief of many warrior angels:

Powers are Warrior Angels against evil defending the cosmos and humans. They are known as potentates. They fight against evil spirits who attempt to wreak chaos through human beings. The chief is said to be either Samael or Camael, both angels of darkness.

Lilith is said to be Eve, the first women. It was she who left Adam and left to marry Samael. (Adam from the story of Adam and Eve).

Now Lucifer was once known as Samael and in some religions was believed to be an Archangel turned bad.

I believe that these facts may be partially correct and that they are part of supernatural because of how the angel called Sam "Samael" in one of the episodes.

Ok, now my theory is that lucifer is trapped inside Sam and that Lilith (whom is in love with Lucifer) wishes to free him from Sams body. This is why she is breaking all the seals.

I think this is why the angels don't like Sam and they do not want him to use his powers for fear that it may awaken what is inside him.

Wow!I think this is the most awsome theory yet.allthough it seems highly unlikely to me that lilith is in love with sam, or whatever is in sam. Because she wouldn't have tryd to kill him if she where. Or otherwise she doesn't know it yet wich seems even more unlikely for the o so powerfull lilith.
But I do think your right on the part of the deamon not intending sam te actualy leed that so called army. Cause I find it hard to believe that sam would willingly do that. Or maby I'm just to fond of sweet little sammy.
I hope we find out soon. And I hope there will be a lot more powers involved on sams part. Cause where did his permonition go anyho.I loved it whan he did that. And what is deans finel role in all of this. share your thoughts

ok sorry but lilith has tried to kill sam, and looking to this angels if they knew sam was lucifer he would be dead by now..they didnt even care about killing a whole town just not for him to wake up, if he was thay would have tried to kill him at the very first time and also we know the yellow demon eyes is inside sam isnt that obvious??

"Isn't it obvious?"
Just because Dean saw what he feared most in Sam- that he will turn out like old Yellow eyes, doesn't mean he is. And I actually have to agree with a few point in Toxzics theory.
I think they choose his name for a reason.
But I still don't think Lilith is in love with whatever is inside of Sam.I mean, yellow eyes only bled a few drops of his demonic blood into Sammy's mouth and I hardly think that will trap Lucifer into the poor boy.
If he does become evil though and he and Dean have to fight I hope my poor sweet Dean come out of it alright.

Actually Lilith is said to have been Adam's first wife and that she left him (or was banished out of Paradise) because she would not submit to his authority and then came Eve ...but there are probably many versions of it.
Additionally the name Sam/Sammie/Sammy mean "His name is god" or "he is called god" which can bring many theories as well. Since the writers are going into this religious path it makes you wonder what the reason behind this was, we have already heard that he was supposed to lead a demon army but that is hardly a "godly" status even amongst demons. Sounds plausible or at least possible that if/when Lucifer (who is considered like God) would come he would take a body (all the demons seem to do that at least) and that body could be Sam...
anyway just some ramblings and there are some good points there, it's just the "lucifer trapped in sam" part that isn't convincing me but the whole connection with Samael is cool :)

interesting theories, all.But when I think upon all the possibilities, I get a headache. We'll just have to wait and see.
the idea of Sam as a vessel is a common one...but I hope there's more to it than that. Also, if he was THAT much of a threat, with Satan living in him or whatever, I'm pretty sure the angels would snuff him, regardless of all the good he's done.
Poor Sammy.

okay I may be WAY off and kinda this may sound like a cliche buuuut what if Ruby ended up getting pregnant? I mean between Sam's powers and Ruby being a demon maybe the demon child would be better suited as the vessel for Lucifer? I dunno I'm probably way off...

nice theories but once again i see dean being screwed all over again, he's the one who stays in line, goes over and beyond to save everyone, even at his own peril and still yet he is being treated like a bus boy, can you imagine, dude doesn't even have one ounce of power to shake a stick at, sighing deeply.someone had better hook my man up, pronto, is all i'm saying.

Dude i think ur great to be honest i had the same idea like uAnd i did just make a acc here to talk about it :)
But there is one thing wrong on ur theory bro :D
Mostly Lucifer will have no Body
So the Sami boy will be his container so to say :)

My only issue with that theory is that it isn't purist - it meshes a lot of religious sources. Lilith, for example, appeared (as the first woman (instead of Eve)) around the ninth century in The Alphabet of Ben Sira (rather than, say, Genesis) and was (I believe) based on folktales at the time of writing.
Then again, I probably shouldn't nitpick at the details. After all, the show itself tend to mesh religions. Ex. I always wondered how they could have Tiamat (a Babylonian goddess of the sea) in Judeo-Christian setting. I suppose she'd just be another bigshot "demon" figure, if the writers are really pressed for an explanation. :D
Though don't get me wrong; I'm not complaining. I do enjoy the show or I wouldn't be here.

Okay so here's one enough with debating over Sam. What about good ol Dean and how he is so torn with his memories of Hell and his feelings of it. What if things just happen to play out to where in order to get rid of his feelings he becomes an Angel. The reason he was chosen to be pulled out of the depths. Even bigger of a stretch if he does to where Sammie becomes full demon and they are then both pitted against each other. Either probably won't happen but would make one hell of story to watch played out.

Did you not watch it? Anna took her Grace from Uiel and became a fullblown angel again. Alistair is a powerful demon who worked with Dean in Hell

I don't think Sam is Lucifer, however it's possible that Sam might be the vessel the devil is going to use after the 66 seals are broken.
You guys are not taking into account the fact that Azazel aka "Yellow-eyed demon" is/was a FALLEN ANGEL (an angel turned bad) just like Lucifer. In Neil Gaiman's 'The Sandman' (from which Kripke seems to have borrowed a lot of ideas) Azazel was one of the rulers in Hell together with Beelzebub and Lucifer.
If Kripke is going to follow The Sandman's plot line then Lucifer is going to end up giving Sam the keys to Hell, becoming the ruler of the entire pit hole... And poor Castiel or Uriel (or both) will be ordered to get the key from Sam, thus becoming the first angels to rule Hell under God's command. And eventually the war between Heaven and Hell will cease.

Now, wouldn't it be cool if Dean became the vessel for Lucifer rather than Sam by some odd twist? I bet no one would see that one coming. (Well, okay, there's about a .000000001 chance of it happening, but speculation is fun, yeah?)
