there will be season 5. i don't know when though...
(btw - i HATED that ending!)
how could you hate that ending? It shocked stunned and broke everyones heart. Next season his struggle will be worse with the juggling of the children n killing. I reckon there going to write Rita as a figment of Dexter's imagination like they did with Harry, so he'll have a good n bad. Sort of like a conscience with Harry telling him to kill n Rita saying no. I think that'll be cool :)
Oh heck no if you kill someone kill them for good, I already hate Harry being around all the time I can't imagine if there were 2 of them bickering all the time on what Dexter should do, what is Harry supposed to be anyways, his conscience or his dark passenger? Maybe he's both.
I never said I hated the ending. In fact, up until the point that Rita's phone rang in her purse I was riding high- but as soon as the baby cried I knew it was over, I just couldn't believe what was actually happening in front of me. The whole "born in blood" brings an entirely new element in to the show because Dexter will always be wondering if the experience will have the same effect on Harrison that it did on him.
I think Harry is Dexter's conscience- if not that, then the little voice that everyone has in their head. The only difference being Dexter's inner struggle is something we all can see.
Can we assume that Trinity got to Rita before Dexter got him, or are we just going to be forced to question whether or not it was a suicide until next season?
It wasnt suicide!!! Rita would not kill herself and leave her kids behind!!!
Wow.... suicide?! What are you on?? I mean, what you just thought it was a coincidence that she happened to choose to kill herself by bleeding out in a bath tub? Somehow, Trinity pieced together where Dexter lived after having visited Dexter's old apartment and saw a unique opportunity to continue his cycle and get back at Dexter simultaneously. Jon Lithgow was awesome btw. The biggest disappointment of the season for me was the death of Lundy because he was fucking great in season 2. All and all, much better than Season 3 imo.
NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! YOU BASTARDS!!!!
I am in denial.....this cannot be! How could they kill Rita - yeah, I was getting annoyed with her nagging but man - kill her??? Perhaps this will be 'shades of Dallas'? One can only hope - I was bummed out for DAYS following this episode.
Anyhow - I have a weird theory. What if it was the neighbor? He attacked and killed Rita - made it look like the Trinity killing? He was a strange dude - argued with his wife all the time - had a temper - did not take the rejection well - nor the thumping by Dexter???? Just a thought - Of course - there is always the real Trinity killer - but that would be so cliche. And for a show that is so unconventional it will bother me to think that they allowed Trinity to exact revenge on Dexter's family - especially with how careful he is with his 'work'.
it's like killing an angel, no way Dexter will survive without Rita, and neither will the code
I am hoping that this is just a DEXTER NIGHTMARE!!!! I hope the next season opens with him wakinmg up and NONE of this happened...and that he continues to go after Trinity
It was confirmed by Jon Lithgow himself in an interview that it was in fact a Trinity murder. I can not stand Rita being dead, I hope he said that to throw us off and that it was a nightmare.
if it turns out to be just a nightmare, that would be the worst ending to any season ever...this way is more poetic, harrison is another dexter, father-son killer tag team
