Let's talk about Izzie's decision to have Cristina be the 1st to know...

This was a bit unexpected. Izzie and Cristina have never been very close, and one would guess George, Alex, or even Meredith would be the first person she would confide in about something so major. But, in a way, it makes sense. Cristina's a more logical person who might be able to give her some real advice untainted by emotions or denial. The question is, is this what Izzie needs or, because of her own nature, does she need someone close to her who can hug her, cry with her, and fight to help her until the end?

I think she told the person who it would destroy the least and whom it would destroy her the least to tell. How do you find the words to tell people this sort of news. Christina is colder, less emotionally explosive.
Anyone else got any scoobie why?

I think you're right. Cristina was far enough outside the circle of friends to be shocked but not go to pieces and drag Izzie into a crying fest, which she didn't need at that point, because to have broken would have been to let the horror in.She also knew that Cristina would not keep quiet, and would tell the people who really needed to know - the surgeons who could help her.
