Naruto Shippuden DVD Volume 1 Now On Sale

The first of many Naruto Shippuden DVDs was released to stores today, containing the first four episodes of the hit ninja series. It carries an MSRP of $24.92, and runs 100 minutes.

While the DVD releases are a bit behind the subtitled simulcasts, which are currently on episode 128, the DVD releases are ahead of the television broadcast and contain both a Japanese language track with subtitles and an English voice track. The dub has not yet aired on television, though they are scheduled to start in October on Disney XD. New DVDs will be released each month, keeping the DVDs and English language broadcast schedules fairly close.

The release of the DVD is being accompanied by two contests run by Viz, including Make a Naruto Birthday Wish and a drawing to win tickets to the premiere of Naruto Shippuden: The Movie at the Viz Cinema.
