On Saturday, a commercial during Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming announced that Bleach: Memories Of Nobody, the first movie in the Bleach anime series, will air on the network midnight on September 5. This is the first time the Bleach movie will be aired in the United States - the movie was originally released in Japan in 2006, and released in theaters and on DVD in the US in 2008. Canadian station YTV also aired the Bleach movie in 2008.
The film, based on the popular manga by Tite Kubo, follows the Soul Reapers as they face a new kind of spirit which threatens humanity, dubbed the "Blanks." Three standalone movies of the supernatural action anime have been made, including Bleach Movie 2: The DiamondDust Rebellion and Bleach: Fade to Black, I Call Your Name.
The Bleach television series airs every week on Adult Swim, and is also available for viewing on Hulu.
