The Killer?????

The identity of the killer is kind of driving me crazy.

I don't think its Sam. Something else is up with Sam.

I was leaning towards their being something freaky about Grandma Stackhouse but now she is dead.

I am pretty sure it isn't Jason, Sookie, Bill or Tara.

I ain't too keen on the other waitress at Merlotte's. The one with the redish hair.

But my prime suspect at the moment is the dectective dude. Bill recognised the name, and kind of gave an up and down glance. Also Bill said that a vamp would drain a corpse. Then the nect thing we know Grandma Stackhouse is round in a pool of blood. Suspicious much??? There are other little things that lead me to dislike him too!

Just wondering what the rest of you guys were thinking with regards to the killer's identity

ahhhh but could Bill be trying to throw everyone of his scent! He could be the killer! (I really hope he isn't!)
And what was all that about the people who raised Sam?? What's his deal?? I know he drinks but have we ever seen him eat??
Damn it! This is all too much for me!

awww have you tried ebay, or half.com? I almost want to tell everything but I think it would ruin the show a little for people whom havent read the books and are so into the show. Lol, but I can promise it is coming very soon just based what has happened and the show following the book pretty well you should know this next episode or following because I do not see them pushing it out more just for the sake of the book because it is going in order and everything is following into place so far...

Hmmm Sam does seem to be the most obvious suspect at the moment, but the killer is never that obvious. There is definitely something going on with the Detective, he has the hallmark characteristics of a psycho- angry and feeling under appreciated, it could be him, but I don't think that's it either. It could be a relatively minor character that hasn't been brought to our attention yet but lingered in the background, or they could outright shock us with someone like Jason or Tara being the killer! I hope they draw it out a bit!

there's something wrong with sam but i don't think he is the killer. I'm thinking possibly he's a were? maybe i don't know lol and bill well bill is totally opposite to the rest of the vampires so i don't know about him. Maybe there's a connection to suki like the vampires want her for something or other maybe to turn her hell i don't know but all i got to say is that the murder of the grandma was definitely unexpected.... cant wait till next week

My bets are on Layfette for many reasons:1)His sex appeal is mesmerizing 2) he is very knowledgeable about the effects of vampire blood 3) People discriminate against him for being gay, which could be a good reason for people to not focus on him being a vampire 3)he did get a little too upset about that mean "aids burger" joke; the "aids" being around since the time of beer brewed and feeding cows?4) he sells V, maybe he needs a little suck for a buck and 5) he always comes out on the show locked up inside his house.
My second choice is Rene, the boyfriend of the red-headed waitress at Merlotte's...he creeps me out for some reason idk...
People focus so much on the obvious stuff, making it easy for the real murder to go around and cause trouble, but who knows? :-)

I have a feeling it's someone we haven't seen yet, or the one of the coroners. They would be perfect, hide cause of death and all that. Plus that assistant guy just seems more then a little suspicious.

I recall in the pilot, during the scene where Sookie saved Bill from that crazy couple, there was a creepy figure in a cloak... did we find out who that was, or is that still open-ended... and what about that dog that was around for a bit?

I know who did it in the books, but I suspect they may change it in the series. They changed the way Bill was taken and why he gave Andy the double take so I wouldn't doubt it.

The pilot was reaired with the new Tara and everything, but that scene was cut out the second time round. I noticed that too, but that person seemed more of a guardian then a killer.

What about that guy who was interested in drinking the Tru Blood? He has been about a bit more. He was there watching when they removed Dawn's bady from her house. He is certainly strong enough to over power someone. And still lives with his mother. (totally serial killerish if you ask me! lol!)

I think Sam is a werewolf. Or at the very least some other mystical creature, it would explain his detest for vampires as well as the way he thinks differently.

Yeah! I totally agree! I'm thinking he is like some sort of werewolf type thing. But was also wondering about whether he maybe somesort of form changing shape shifter thing as Bill mentioned in one of the frst episodes how different vampires have different abilities. Maybe this applies to whatever Sam is aswell. ??? Don't think he is evil tho! Raised by wolves or something maybe! lol!

I don't think the killer was that guy drinking true blood, because wasn't he also the one who was thinking all those really sweet things about Dawn and how her voice would be a mix between angels and parakeets. If he was the killer I think Sookie would have heard it in his thoughts, and he would have been thinking more about how she hung out with Vamps.
The killer must either have very good control over their thoughts, amnesia, or Sookie just hasn't read them yet. Keep in mind that she opened up to listen to people's thoughts and got a whole bunch of nothing.

I don't think Sookie can hear Vampire thoughts at all. In the club she only heard the humans. So, that guy thinking things about Dawn can't be a vamp because she read his thoughts. We have never seen her read LaFayettes thoughts, though...
I think the cloaked figure was a guardian of some sort. At first I thought the dog was Sam, but then I saw the two of them together and I felt I needed to change my theory...but he barks in his sleep and rolls around smelling the sheets from where Dawn was? Totally doglike, so some connection.
Hmmm. Maybe it is Sam as a werewolf and he regrets it in the morning. I dont think the killer is a vamp because blood is never drained or drank. Though if it were a werewolf I think there would have been mangling...
I like the LaFayette theory. He seems to be into a lot of shady things and willing to do whatever for a buck. And his character has been shown to us in ways that we neither love or hate him. He does 'bad' things, but is also Tara's family, so we aren't able to go one way or the other about him.
Jason is too clueless to be the murderer and all he thinks about is sex anyway. Why would he kill his own Grandmother, too.
Maybe it's Tara's mother? LOL. Just an off the wall guess.
We are being led to be suspicious of Sam, but I think he genuinely cares for Sookie, so why would he kill the Grandmother. Hell, why would anyone kill the grandmother?
It must be someone who is really anti vampire too. Especially since all that politics is going on about the equal rights for Vamps. That would be the connection: the girls had sex with them and Grandma brought Bill into the church and treated him with respect. So this idea makes me doubt LaFayette, too.
So, something is up with Sam, but I don't think he'd kill the G'ma. Would he? Though he did say quite vehemently that he thought everything should be segregated and she brought Bill to the church. And, for Sookie to end up with Bill and for all viewers to want her to end up with Bill, Sam has to eventually either leave the picture or become someone no one wants her to be with. ooh, and bluelilygirl made a good point that the killer must either have very good control of thoughts or Sookie can't read. She doesn't really read Sam very well. Also, he seems a bit eager for her to read them, for such a closed guy. Maybe he is trying to see if she knows anything so he can tell if he is in danger of getting caught?
LaFayette is too concerned with money and sees Vamps as a money source, so wouldn't kill to fight against the Vamps. i think it is political...that would be the only motive that makes sense for all victims...
It would never be Bill or Sookie as they are the main characters, the hero and heroine and it doesn't make sense for the way books, TV and movies are made.
Rene? Holt? Maybe. We have yet to know their characters or their political stance very well.
Okay, those are all of my crazy theories. Fun!

Addressing your questions....
AllicuraSend a Compliment - 20:38 PDT, 7 October, 2008hey guys, just wanted 2 ask a few q's,

1.) should I read the books,(for those who read them) because i wont read them if bill & sookie dont stay 2gether in the end... (yes read the books they are worth it, you will fall in love with the relationships in the book, trust me) even though I already know what is what because I have read all eight book I LOVE seeing how they play out compared to my imagination and they are doing a great job so far and honestly I was scared they would ruin my love for the book series but I am almost as addicted to the show as I am the books!
2.) did that guardian thing/cloaked figure in the pilot episode control the chain to tighten around mack ratray's neck? or was that sookie...???? (I am not sure because I did not pay attention to the pilot).
3.) do the books really match up to the series True blood??? (as a true fan to the books and the fact that there is a new book coming out that I already made up my mind if the series wasnt good I would stop watching b/c I didnt want it to spoil my book experience, so far the serious is exceeding all my expections and lessing all my doubts of matching to the book series. So far it is doing a great job, I just hope they keep it up).

PLEEASE help me!! :) ;0 :p

Could the shadowy figure be Sam? It fits with the guardian theory! He may still be doglike as dogs are sort of like guardians to the people they love and Sam loves Sookie.
I thought Sam wanted Sookie to read his thoughts so that she could see how he felt about her without him having to tell her. But I like the way you are thinking Naoibi!
I think Rene was in the bar the night Sookie listened in. But I can't be sure! lol! I really like the Lafayette character and hope he isn't a granny killer. I could forgive Maudette and even Dawn but not poor old Granny Stackhouse.
Also Sookie can only seem to read one train of thought in a persons mind at a time. Tara managed to la la la her way out of a mind reading. What if someone in the bar was simply running through other thoughts in their mind to keep her out?
and finally one more thought/ question - can vamps come out in sunlight in the show. I dont remember seeing Bill in the daylight. However when Jason is arrested for the murder of Maudette Lafayette was working with him on the road crew. So maybe he isn't a vampire?

Concerning the questions:
AllicuraSend a Compliment - 20:38 PDT, 7 October, 2008
hey guys, just wanted 2 ask a few q's,
1.) should I read the books,(for those who read them) because i wont read them if bill & sookie dont stay 2gether in the end...
Now one knows who Sookie will end up with, since the series isn't finished yet, and Charlaine refuses to give us a good hint >_>The bets on Bill aren't that high though, since he messed up pretty good...- But I promise you that this will not spoil any of the fun the books are. There are so many more interesting characters and possible hot love interests in there...

2.) did that guardian thing/cloaked figure in the pilot episode control the chain to tighten around mack ratray's neck? or was that sookie...????
I have no idea - there was no cloaked figure in the books. But I doubt that anyone controlled the chain - Sookie certainly couldn't have. It's got something to do with physics and movie-convenience I think ;)The only guardian I know of wouldn't wear a cloak...so it doesn't necessarily has to be a guardian...
3.) do the books really match up to the series True blood???
Oh boy, they do. They are quite a bit funnier though, as you get Sookie's shrewd commentary on everything.(Remember, it's usually the original version that outranks the adaption - altough alan ball's version is great, really.)

And no, vamps can SO not come out in the sunlight. It's difficult enough to get them to wake up as long as the sun's still out, but exposing them to snlight proves to be quite deadly (for the vamps)
It's soooo interesting to listen to your ideas about who the murderer might be :)(One of you even got the right guy ^^)

Thanks for the sunlight info. Totally thought they couldn't come out!
