Did anyone actually watch The Spirit?

I didn't. I was too busy watching movies I've already seen, like Almost Famous and The Dark Knight. Like most of America, I think Frank Miller's latest flick looks like a big load of bad. I feel embarrassed for all involved when I watch the trailers. Read more ...

I actually did see it. It was way better then I thought it would be but I didn't see that many previews for or much of the ad campaign. And it seemed true to the graphic novel. It hokey but it is meant to be that way, I thought it made fun of the superhero genre in the first place. And you have to remember that the graphic novel was writtin back in the fifties. (Or somewhere around that Time). And it has some of the same effects that Sin City had. But some people may disagree with me because I'm the kind of guy that prefers more the non-mainstream movies.

Mainstream or not, crap is crap. No one can pretend that it doesn't stink.

It's a matter of opinion and I'm not saying it was the best of comic book movies far from it and I guess you you two would know what crap considering your Gossip Girl fans. An basically I thought it was good because of the artistic value of the acting wasn't stellar by any mean plot was thin but there. And truth be told it has been about ten years since I read it. And you ever think that it was meant to be ridiculous and laughable. I think you should just try to think outside your little of what you think it should be and take it as it is. I'd like to see you make a movie!

My brother hates gossip girl, loved Sin City and walked out of this movie. He said he couldn't take it anymore. I stayed and watched it because I paid for it and I knew I couldn't get my money back (wish I could though). My brother was one of about 25 people who walked out of the movie theater that we were in, I doubt that they were all gossip girl fans. I haven't seen such a horrible reaction to a movie in a while. In short this movie is just God Awful.

I am not an avid fan of Gossip Girl, but I still don't see how it's relevant to liking this movie or not. If it is, that just proves how much The Spirit sucks, because I admit that Gossip Girl has pretty awful acting and horrible plots/story lines. But it has some redeeming qualities, The Spirit does not.
