Emmys showcase five-star reality hosts lineup

Five reality-show hosts will take center stage at Sunday's Emmy Awards, both as emcees and nominees. And just like at their day jobs, these five say they are ready for anything.

The five-star lineup includes Heidi Klum (Project Runway), Tom Bergeron (Dancing with the Stars), Howie Mandel (Deal or No Deal), Jeff Probst (Survivor) and Ryan Seacrest (American Idol). Seacrest was solo ringmaster at last year's Emmys.

All are nominees in the new category of best host for a reality or reality-competition show. Read more

There are so many darn "reality" shows these days, it's no surprise to me this category was added. In fact, I'm more surprised that it took so long to add it. Many of these shows have at least half a dozen seasons under their proverbial belts.I say the first one should go to...Jeff Probst. He deserves it the most out of the rest of them. Next year...Tyra Banks.

I think they should distinguish between reality shows that isolate contestants from the rest of the world (Survivor, Amazing Race, etc.) and shows that take place on a stage (Deal or No Deal, AI, etc.).
Honestly, Howie Mandel is considered a reality show host? Huh?
