Painting in the office at Merlotte's

Could it be a clue? Take a look at at the painting in the office of Merlotte's. When Sam takes Sookie in to talk to her in episode to they briefly freeze on the painting. The painting is of a young blond child being watched over in a field by a dog. Suspiciously the dog looks similar to the one we have seen many times and the child could be a young Sookie. We know she is not what she seems (just a bar waitress) but could the old painting be a clue?

i think that that dog is a vampire or something. Remember Bill saying in the second episode that some vampires could change form (and he said that right after seeing the dog in the forest)....OH! Or maybe the dog is Sam her boss, that would make sense...well kinda. Haha, i've never read the books so I will have to wait to find out!

Its funny to see this series as those who read the books know exactly what is happening and what will happen. Kinda like watching Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings movies but this one is a series ^_^

I give. I realize I need to buy the books ASAP and get caught up. :-) I am already hooked on the show. There were some reviewers that have indicated the show will follow the books for the first season then depart in season two. Should be interesting to see how it plays out.

Interesting! I haven't read the books, but am now intrigued to check them out. I would think it's leaning toward the dog being vampire-esque, but then why would it be Sam who has the painting? Maybe there's more to him than we think!

The first season covers the first book..........not all of the books. The first season/book all happens in the span of two weeks. Hopefully they get renewed and the second season will start book two.

i'm sick of ppl not at least picking up the books...if you're looking for spoilers, read the book.
even if i didn't know what sam was, i'm pretty sure i could've figured it out by now...its kinda obvious.
why do you think he was so chipper after Sookie dumped Bill, and she hadn't told anyone yet...? hmm hmm????just putting that out there.
AND remember when Sookie mentioned werewolves and silver after she rescued bill? yeah, if vamps exist, don't you think other creatures of the night would exist?

SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH alecto!!!! uh, I really can't even try and get in on the discussion about TB because of you ppl giving up the secrets in here!
Perhaps we could have discussion for ppl who have read the books noted in the title of the discussion, and a separate discussions for ppl who have not read the books noted in the title as well.
