The women

I would have liked to have seen more of Ellen in a substitute role of mom as Bobby has been for dad. I think that Jo would have been great love interest for Sam. I really believed right up to the end that Bella would turn out to be good after all and use her talents to help as the love interest for Dean. But I'm happy with a men only show because (and yes this is one of a very very short list of all time best shows ever on tv) I just don't like the dialog that females get on this show compared to the males. I feel that if the writers can't seem to give the same depth to female characters then I'd just as soon keep it male (with brief unpaid sex of course). As to Ruby, the current actress is just not up to my image of the part and I think that his dating the demon limits his character too much, overshadowing his inner conflict about having demon blood and diminishing our belief that that upsets him. As to Anna I didn't feel chemistry from the actress and the premise was bad. Angels are the soldiers of God and we are his civilians that is why we have free will and they don't. Contrary to other opinions expressed only God can break the rules-that's why he's God. Just because Anna started to remember her angelic past when she was a toddler does not make her human. She can choose to occupy a body at any age (even in the womb) but (like Ruby) she cannot become human just because she has decided to desert her comrades in the war on Satan and have a good time instead. Do you think that a human can choose (against God's will) to become an angel just because he/she wants to? I wasn't surprised that she could forget about the parents that died because of her and just enjoy sex with Dean because I thought she was only using him (and because burying your troubles in sex is typically male writing). The essence/grace that she used to escape was like a ticket to get into Heaven which gave her a chance to convince God to show mercy it was not something which changed her species.

traditionally angels can turn into full blooded humans by cutting of their wings but there is no turning back. thats why i guess the writers introduced that grace thing to give anna a possibility to get back.when she ripped her grace out she fell to earth and was born as a human she didn't occupy the body like ruby is possessing coma-girl. with anna it's not like with castiel or uriel who indeed possess humans. in castiels case the human did pray for it.
and yes humans can't turn into angels, you can only downgrade but not upgrade.
i don't think she was using dean it was just a little mutual fun before turning into a sexless angel again.
