hypothesis about invaders

i believe the invaders maybe lead by the walter of the parallel universe whom walter took peter from it is obvious that our walter took this peter when his peter died from that disease and if he was crazy enough to do that to replace his dead son why wouldn't his other self from the parallel world go nuts

I'm pretty sure that the current Peter is a clone of this universes original Peter, and I'm thinking the invasions from the parallel universe have more to do with the bald-man than Peter. Besides, why would Walter be leading an army, he isn't a general or anything.

here's my opinion: i believe that when Walter's son died in our world, Walter built the machine to travel to the parallel universe to kidnap the other world's version of peter since he couldn't bare stand the death of his son, however, i believe he somehow manage to learn something while he was on the other universe of an invasion from that world, possibly a world that invades other parallel worlds. And when he came back, him and William Bell as well as Nina Sharp somehow were all collaborating to create super soldiers (aka Olivia Dunham) to fight off that invasion, also explains that book explaining about the parallel universe and the soldiers stuff that apparently Walter had written with that type writer, yet he forgot about it. However, somehow Walter lost his mind possibly due to the jump from both universes as you can see which is effecting Olivia at the moment. This might explain why William Bell is also on the other side, probably gaining information which he thus passed on to Olivia at the end of season 1. As for the observer, I think he's trying to help Walter or gain information since he was trying to help him remember something in one of the episodes in season 1. But we shall see where this season goes, which i'm enjoy oh so much =]

LesterL, for the most part I agree with most of what you said. In the next episode, we will see a new character which experiment and Walters brain either trying to find information or help Walter remember something. When that girl took the LSD and Walter did those experiments on her, she said she could see people that didnt fit, such as people from a parallel universes. Towards the end of that episode she looks at Peter and she obviously saw something around him, possible a glow of some sort. This make me feel almost certain Peter is from the other Universe. Also, the seem Peter is dreaming of a time in his room when he was a boy and he sees Walter creeping in. This could be a suppressed memory.
Relating to the initial post, alternate Walter could have become enraged in hate just as our Walter became enraged in depression for the loss of his son making him go to drastic measures to regain his son. Alternate Walter could have been planning for an alternate universe takeover for justification for Walter stealing his son while our Walter is rotting in the mental institute. When Walter was locked up, there was a scene in the first season where you see a flash and another Walter appears and 'our' Walter is curled up crying. This could be the alternate universe Walter harassing him and could have been for the 17 years.
