loved it!

alot of people didnt like this movie, thought it was dumb. I actually liked it, altough I'm kind of a rebel at heart, so I usually like movies that ahve some sort of protest in 'em especially of it's against the government.

V has got some really poetic lines during the movie. My fav - actually liked it so much that I memorized it, altough i didnt understand anything the 1st time I watched :

" Voila ! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is it vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V."

I loved this movie! I thought it was done really well. His intro monologue was spectacular with all of his "V" words. I really liked the commentary on society about how dangerous it is to be afraid of differences and how dangerous it would be for the government to take complete control over the population. There are so many layers to this movie, and I'm sure I'm missing a ton of other stuff, but this movie is just too fabulous.
Also, who can resist V's charm??? Other than torturing the woman he loves (his motives were good), he was so smooth talking and passionate about everything! I would love to have lunch with him and figure out how his mind worked! To bad he's a fictional character...

It's an ok film but it is definitely not researched properly into the history of november 5th!! I mean throughout the film "V" mentions how Fawkes was the main guy, the guy who sought for independence and change, but in actual fact it was Robert Catesby, Fawkes was just the poor devil who got shipped from another country after being exiled to blow up parliament, he had no brains. I learnt that in primary school, not hard to look it up on wiki either. Seriously disappointed when there is great lack of research in films, it completely spoils the hope of a good spark
Also, the ideas have blatently been taken from 1984 and brave new world. like seriously taken major ideas out of those novels. It would be good if there was something unique about this film but nope, i could not pay attention for ages and still understand what's happening.
