why do they always cancel the good shows (eastwick, dollhouse?) and drag out the really bad ones (lost, seinfield, friends)?

I know, I really loved 'Dollhouse', but at-least it lasted 2 whole seasons, and there are only 3 episodes left which means all the story-lines will be resolved and Echo will take down the dollhouse. I hate it when a good series gets cancelled and leaves with a cliff hanger, not knowing what happens in the end, like 'Popular' and 'Veronica Mars'.
I enjoyed 'Eastwick', I loved the movie. I don't think the series was given a chance but oh well at least the story lines get resolved.
Can't say I ever watched 'Seinfield', but have heard of it. I loved 'Friends' and nothing can compare to how awesome that series was, I have all ten seasons DVD, can't wait for the movie next year. Finally I have to say I started watching 'Lost' when it started then stopped watching it half way through It's second season then stopped watching it because I got lost watching it lol, maybe one day I will buy the whole collection when it ends (which will be soon).
My sister enjoys friends too. I found it way to formulatic and not just a bit boring. But I prefer action fantasy and scifi when possible. any one know any similar shows apart from charmed which confused me to no end..
i love seinfeld. it's witty. :3
I agree with you about how sad it is about dollhouse being cancelled, but seriously you just put friends and lost down as bad shows that were dragged out? I don't think you've been watching the same thing. Friends is basically the most popular tv show there has ever been and the stopped the show when it had it's highest ratings. If they were dragging it out it would have gone for as long as they thought it would make money, and lost, the decided back in season 3 that they would end it in season 6. If you had actually watched it you would see how ridiculously fast paced the story telling is in the show. So yeah neither show was remotely dragged out.
Yeah, I may not know a lot about Dollhouse, but I have to jump in to defend three of my favorite shows of all time. Friends and Seinfeld have been my favorite shows since I started watching "real" television.Seinfeld is arguably one of the best shows of all time, it had the third highest viewed finale ever, and was the most popular show on television when the cast bowed out gracefully (and quite frankly could have done at least another fantastic season).Friends was on the top of television when the cast decided to call it quits. They were right behind Seinfeld for the fourth highest viewed series finale (behind MASH, Cheers, and Seinfeld-all of which, by the way, had ten or more seasons). These "drawn-out" shows were anything but, as the all made the creative decision to go out when they were still at the top of their game. While Lost may not have ever had the viewers of any of the above shows, it has a very strong fan base that will be very sad to see the show end this year (which, by the way, is only in its sixth season and just barely past the 100 episode mark thanks to only 49 episodes in the final three seasons). They planned ahead and have been working towards this point for two seasons now. It is the type of show that not everyone will understand/love, but that doesn't make it a bad, drawn-out show. Finally, while I may not be a fan of the shows of which you spoke, I am a huge fan of Arrested Development, which was canceled after three short, fantastic seasons. It was the sort of show that was so well-written that not everyone got the humor, and its cancellation was unfortunate and undeserved. Shows like Seinfeld and Friends are able to find that mainstream audience that some of those smaller, well-crafted shows just can never manage to get, and when it comes to primetime television, ratings are king, which is really the only reason why those shows have been canceled.
Ok, I'm all up for saying that there are a lot of good shows out there that have been canceled that should have had more time. I mean, come on...'My Name is Earl' ended on a such a cliffhanger! I even liked 'Reaper' which ended abruptly...so I wont disagree with you on that...BUT
Although I hate Seinfield...there is no doubt that for some odd reason that show had a fan base bigger than any show we've seen since...except maybe....Friends, which I LOVED....and last but not least....Lost. Just don't diss Lost. It's a FUN show to watch because it keeps you guessing and on your feet and it is one of my favorite shows of all time, if not my FAVORITE all together. So, just don't diss Lost
Don't hate on friends. It's the best show i've ever bothered to keep up with. aside from Dexter.
