Explosiens Bad Guys And Briljant Science

The one thing i am really missing in SGU are the epic space battles, explosions, a bad alien race: goa'uld ori wraith ect... , the briljant life saving science only possible in the realm of theoretical physics. And of course the humor. This my friends is the stargate formula. The only thing stopping me from not watching it is rush and the stargate itself also i feel like i ow the creators of stargate even dow they seem to be on crack.

This is my opinion please form your own and don't blindly follow mine.

So basically what you're saying is, there's not enough Stargate in Stargate Universe? Yeah, the Internet agrees with you.

Agreed! I also agree with the whole Rush thing. I swear, he's the only one that seems to actually fit with the Stargate formula... besides the actual Stargate itself, although it's not being used much.
I'm still debating whether or not I'm going to catch up with the last few episodes I missed... >__>

It is so true. Where did the humour go? Actually, I feel like Eli's the only real Stargate character, simply because he *has* a sense of humour. Rush would work better if everyone else weren't so serious all the time. I thought Matt was going to be a successor to the Colonel Awesome legacy of Jack, Cam, and John. Nope, too much angst.
In fact, it's like the writers are all "Angst! Angst for everyone!"
Between all of that and the fact that this is pretty much a 14A rated show, I don't like it nearly as much as SG-1 or Atlantis. I want my exploding solar systems, witty banter, and general feeling of cheerfulness while stranded somewhere in space, dangit! It worked before, and it would work again. It's like every tv show that isn't a comedy has to be "darker and edgier." And it sucks.
BTW, if you have a galactic body-swapping device and broken ancient technology, why do you not send people who understand Ancient stuff better than anybody (ie, Sam, Rodney, and/or Daniel) instead of the ever-irritating and obviously inappropriate Col. Telford? (Sadly I think the answer is ANGST.)

Personally, I really hate the Eli character, however, that said, this show is like a much less interesting version of Battlestar.

Agreed, and at this rate i cant see the story line of SG Universe going very far. The writers should all be sacked and some one with better ideas hired.
Personally i think a better story line would be that they are able to dial back to earth get rid of every one except Rush, Eli and that Chloe and then gate some better characters in, and then finally actually be able to control the ship and do some exploring and back to basic stargate stuff.
SG1 and Atlantis have been way better. And where as SG1 has in fairness ran its course...atlantis should be recommisioned...or at the very least bring Sam,Daniel and Jack back into this very poor excuse for a stargate saga

I fully agree with everybody here. It's enough. We had our 9 episodes of torture. Now mr. wright, mr. cooper pleeeaase!! We surrender... put this crap off the air. Nobody ,except for a few lost souls out there, is able to puke anymore, because biomatter is already running low. after half of the first season you should replace sgu with reruns of commercials.. maybe 80's bestof or so.. even that would match the original stargate-entertainment-experience a lot more then sgu does.

I think they've fried enough true SG fans that no matter what they do with SG Universe they're just not going to watch any more. They've been so disappointed that there is no more... let me watch one more and hope it turns around.
The only way the fans are comming back to a SG is with a whole new series. Let's dump Star Gate Soap Opera in a Tin Can (SGSOTC) for a true SG series like.....
Star Gate Moon BaseStar Gate MarsStar Gate Time Traveler
Can you guys think up any other creative names?
