âda Kink in my Hair, produced by Barna-Alper, trey anthony, Ngozika and Defiant Entertainment and shot in Toronto, Ontario, is a comedic drama set in a bustling hair salon in Torontoâs Caribbean community. Making the jump from stage to screen, âda Kink in my Hair resonated strongly with urban audiences, showing particularly strong numbers in the Toronto market - appealing to the largest percentage of Adults 18-49 in the largest urban centre amongst Canadian original comedies. âda Kink was the #1 new comedy of the season, topping Sophie and Jpod in Toronto by 16% and 88% respectively; even outranking new episodes of the competing networkâs comedy, Corner Gas, for key demos in the market in January 2008.
