A rocky start

i know what you mean- my current biggest gripe so far is the man baby being born. ok, i'll respect the fantasy enough to allow for the rapid aging aspect, but the growth is . . . well, matter cant suddenly appear, sure it can be turned into energy, hell on the molecular level it can even 'teleport,' but to gain the mass to grow at al, the mother or the child would have had to consume proportionate mass. i know its a stupid thing to go on about, but my physic's teacher pounded into my head the whole "cannot be created or destroyed" law as the defining aspect of modern science. hell, without that law we're not talking sci-fi, we're talking 'fantasy magic'

I absolutely adore the whole mad scientist quirky aspect. I like the son. I even like the agent's character. Yes, she's a bit icy at times but how would you expect someone to behave who just went through losing her partner in every sense of the word. But if they're going to be SO far fetched it shouldn't be such a realistic setting as every day life. I just think if they went more subtle with the outlandish things, the show would have a chance. I'm glad you're with me on that. I'd hate to think I was being too much of a armchair critic. <3

I too think that its very far fetched but that is cause you just mentioned it. I think the fact that in that reality its not common occurence (pattern) and that there is still the element of surprise, at least for most characters, makes it more believable. I have a scientist mind too but when soo much weird things start happening I consinder the fact that their world may not be a possible future of ours where the laws of physics we abide to dont apply anymore. It is just a different "universe" or whatever you wanna call it where they dont appply. Its dat simple because questionning one aspect would make me question the whole Walter being allowed to get out of mental institute and a whole lot of other things.Maybe I am just gullible but if I want things to be realistic, I wouldn't be watching tv.
