Smallville: Who's Going to Die?

Jimmy Olson's death shattered everyone on Smallville last season. This year, fans will be lamenting more losses. TVGuide.com caught up with executive producer Kelly Souders, who revealed that more people bite the dust in Season 9.

"You will see more people than you can imagine die in the first 12 [episodes]. Luckily it's Smallville, so not all of them stick," Souders said. The showrunner would only give three hints:

* Is this in the present or the future? "A little bit of both."

* Might this be one of Lois' visions? "There might be a few people who pass away in her visions, too."

* Are any of the main characters the victims? "You can't make me ruin that. I promise you all the people you love to watch, you will still be loving to watch in episode 18, 19, 20, 21."

Now that you're clued in on all the bloodshed, who do you think is going to die and who do you think will get a reprieve?

But there's that vision Lois keeps having of her lying dead- seems like more of a red herring than a clue to me...

Hey Chloe haters that's what everyone said last season....Chloe's getting the axe because she isn't original to Superman, just original to Smallville. That has nothing to do with it. Jimmy is canon and he got shit canned. So Chloe may die but it isn't going to be before episode 12: "I promise you all the people you love to watch, you will still be loving to watch in episode 18, 19, 20, 21." Chloe is definitely in that group. She has made it all the way to season 9 without so much as an absence unlike almost every other character on the show:Lana, original Superman character, was gone season 7 essentially;Jimmy, again Superman original, killed season 8;Lex Luthor, original to Superman and Superman's greatest villan, KILLED season 7, essentially, although not officially until season 8;Kara, essentially gone season in season 7 official goodbye in one episode season 8Pete, moved to Wichita end season 3, came back one episode in season 4
Writers don't do something just because of canon they have their own story to tell if you haven't already noticed. So with that in mind how about Tess, or Oliver, or Metallo--all viable possibilities. All I am saying is there are plenty other options besides Chloe. Just because she is a non-canon character does not mean she will get the axe. She is possibly the most important character in Clark Kent's life to this point in Smallville-canon. They won't kill her off in the first half of season 9. It cannot and will not be that simple. She may not be back for season 10, yeah of course, because Allison Mack hasn't signed a contract yet but that means nothing. Season 9 wasn't positive on casting until May or June of this year so you can't go on that either. I don't know why she is the first to be suspected every time. It's ridiculous.

I'm not a chloe hater it's just been said, like **super_starz* said, that she is leaving and I know it was said before but the guys from DC are starting to get really picky about the smallville to superman changeover because it's no longer become superman the early years and it's beginning to be the superman legacy. Chloe has been a fave of mine throughout all nine seasons and I would hate to see her go.
other thoughts on possible deaths. Oliver? I know he's part of an entirely different set of comics but is it possible? Now he's back as the green arrow fighting crime and helping clark he is in serious danger because he is mortal and there is clearly going to be a face-off between the heroes and Zod and his Kandonian army once they get there powers. Just a hunch.

okay really? did you read the whole thing I wrote? I said not in the first 12 episodes which is what this entire blurb was about. I know she may not come back for season 10 may being the KEY word. So with that in mind she could therefore die anywhere from this week to the last week of the season. But I believe it won't be until episodes 18-21 where we will know her fate for sure (see the last paragraph).
Now, why are the DC comics people getting picky a whole 9 seasons in? They should have started in season 7 when Clark left the farm almost entirely, its ridiculous and nonsensical to start making Smallville stick to canon now a whole 2 years after he left the farm. So if Chloe dies/leaves before episode 12 because of DC finally getting their act together I will be angry. They acted way to late in my opinion.
On another note,joshy_boi that last paragraph confused me. It seems you think Oliver is a likely target based on your last two sentences. But when you ask "is it possible?" you seem to think otherwise. In my opinion he is a viable option. Now that the green arrow is back in full swing one stray bullet or one misplaced step could be the end of him. He could now die quite quickly and suddenly. Will they do that though? I'm not sure because of Kelly Saunders response here:EW: Are any of the main characters the victims?KS: You can't make me ruin that. I promise you all the people you love to watch, you will still be loving to watch in episode 18, 19, 20, 21.
Notice episodes 18-21 will include all the people you love to watch. Which I believe to be Lois, Clark, and Chloe and quite possibly Oliver as well. So maybe based on that answer alone he will make it long past episode 12 but then again it depends on who Kelly Saunders thinks "the people you love to watch" are; but Chloe is positively in that group. She will not die before episode 12 if at all. Just my opinion.
