first of all, just because his name was Nick and this guys name is Mick doesn't necessarily mean they spoofed it. They were more going for the classic 1940s Private eye guy name, which is a cliche and well known in the US. (smallville season 6 ep20 has a spoof off of that genre.)
Second, Mick isn't "repentant" he fed off lots of girls in the 80s and tried a girl of Joseph's without having a problem.
Third, Mick is a lot younger than Nick, and Mick was changed by his wife, not a father figure. In fact, half the time Mick is the fatherly figure to his older counter part, Joseph.
fourth, Mick didn't care much for becoming human, ya he liked the idea and lived it up some when he got it, but he didn't dwell on it after it was over, nor did he seek it out until his ex-wife drug the subject out. Humanity wasn't his overall goal so much as keeping the secret for the good of the society ((which he accepted fully)).
Last, do you think that was the first vampire show ever made?the whole vampire Genre is done over and over anyway.Forever Knight just rode the fame of Anne Rice just like this and all these new books and shows are riding twilight's success. They're both has beens, the only difference is Moonlight is recient. ^_~ not to say it doesn't have it's loyal fans that will cling to it, like you apparently have, for over 10 years.
not pickin' on you or anything but leave me to cling to my show in peace, got it?
and don't call it cheap. TV is just a giant loop of trends. I just caught the second wave.
Hey, of course the vampire thing has been done to death! lol to explain, I was going through a phase where I watched every vampire show that I could find and forever knight was what started me on it. Yes I caught onto the 1940s private eye joke, but I never associated Nick and Mick as being similar names. It's also similar to Angel in many respects. Like, I said, It isn't a problem just commenting on the common theme of vampires fighting crime and being estranged from their sires. I'm wondering when they went from scary monsters to Batman? Anyway, cling to your show as you wish, I did enjoy it just as I enjoyed all the shows extremely similar to it... or indeed anything involving vampires at all. Also, calling it cheap was meant to be more joking than anything else. I guess sarcasm doesn't come across very well via the internet.
p.s. I'm a 20 year old female from ct which is in the usa... perhaps i need to work on my communication skills... I managed to catch the 1st loop although not 10 years ago lol
oh my gosh who cares?
you apparently care enough to comment
