Tonight's TV Hot List: Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009 - Featured

* 30 Rock (9:30/8:30c NBC)

The financial meltdown hits the cast and crew of the fictional sketch-comedy program The Girlie Show in the fourth-season premiere of the Emmy-winning sitcom. Corporate overlord Jack Donaghy is scrambling to cut costs at NBC as well as raise the popularity of Liz Lemon's show. Jenna uses this as an opportunity to treat herself to a complete makeover, while Tracy decides it's time to reach out to the public. Meanwhile, Liz and Pete search for new talent, and Kenneth finds the courage to act as a leader in a strike of the NBC pages. Steve Buscemi returns in his recurring role of Jack's sleazy, low-budget private eye, Lenny.

* MLB Playoff (8/7c TBS)

If this matchup seems familiar, it is: The Phillies and Dodgers, who play Game 1 of the NL Championship series tonight in Los Angeles, squared off for the NL pennant last year, with the Phillies wrapping it up in five games. Although the Dodgers are probably happy for a chance at redemption, it's unlikely that anyone in L.A. will be happy to see Philly's Shane Victorino or Matt Stairs, who both homered in the eighth inning of Game 4 last year when the Dodgers appeared to be on the verge of tying the series up at two games apiece.

* FlashForward (8/7c ABC)

Are the flash-forwards actual glimpses of the future or self-fulfilling prophecies? That's one of the subtexts of the series thus far, and tonight the argument plays out when Bryce believes a patient's vision is the key to a correct diagnosis while Olivia has her doubts. In other events, Mark and Demetri clash over their reactions to their flash-forwards, and Nicole, Charlie's babysitter, confides what she saw: a murder.

* In Peformance at the White House (8/7c PBS)

President and Mrs. Obama welcome a wealth of Latino entertainers and music artists to the South Lawn of the White House for a celebration of Hispanic music. Among the artists expected to appear are Marc Anthony, the Bachata music group Aventura, Latin-jazz great Pete Escovedo, pop star Gloria Estefan, singer-songwriter Jose Feliciano, the Chicano rock band Los Lobos, George Lopez, Jimmy Smits, Mexican pop singer Thalía and reggaeton star Tito "El Bambino." Sheila E. leads the house band.

* Grey's Anatomy (9/8c ABC)

The title of this episode is "Invasion," so say "hi" to the Mercy West docs, especially hotties Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams), Reed Adamson (Nora Zehetner), Charles Denman (Robert Baker) and April Kepner (Sarah Drew). But don't expect our hot docs to welcome them with open arms, Izzie especially. Among the attendings, Callie's job might finally be secure, but now she has to contend with her father (Hector Elizondo), who has found a priest to tell her that she shouldn't be gay.
