THEN: Dean broke the first Seal, Sam broke the last Seal and Lucifer rose, causing Hell on Earth. Dean is meant to become Michael's vessel, Sam is meant to be Lucifer's vessel, and the two brothers are supposed to fight to the death for the fate of the world. Also, God is MIA and the boys finally located the Colt.
NOW: It's the big mid-season finale of Supernatural, which means major events, shocking twists, death and enough of a cliffhanger to have every Supernatural fan hating the months between now and the next new episode.
Supernatural starts with a CEO coming to a crossroads looking to make a deal for a bailout. He's hoping for a hot young lady like all Crossroads Demons, but he gets Crowley, played by Mark Sheppard. You might know him as Romo Lampkin from Battlestar Galactica, Badger from Firefly, or man other totally awesome guest appearances.
Crowley agrees to the bailout, but like all deals, it needs to be sealed with a kiss. That's right, Supernatural is giving us a man-on-man liplock! Sadly for all you pervy fanfic people, it involves two guest stars, one of whom is a fat old man. The two dudes aren't alone, because someone is watching: Castiel.
The good angel is tracking Crowley for the brothers, and when he follows the demon back to his home, Cas finds it's covered with anti-angel symbols. The support is called in, and it's Jo, posing as a damsel in distress to get the guards to let her in. Once inside, her mom Ellen and the Winchesters kill some demon guards.
Sam and Dean go inside to confront Crowley, but he gets more demon guards to hold them back. Crowley takes out the Colt and admires it before aiming it at the boys' heads. He diverts his aim a bit and kills his guards. I should've seen that coming. Mark Sheppard specializes in playing complex characters who constantly change allegiances.
