I wonder what made Kim think she's ready to jump back into the music circuit after her futile attempts to become a country singer. Or better yet, what convinced Kandi to push Kim to pursue a singing career? Did Kandi not see the first season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta?
Hopefully, we find out some of the answers to these questions in tonight's episode called "Scrambled Egos," which sort of serves as a "backtrack" to what led Kim to release her debut single "Tardy for the Party," which is now out on iTunes.
When Kandi invites Kim to hang out and hear her version of "Tardy for the Party," Kim is shocked to learn that Kandi has her own studio at home. Kandi first plays out a raw version of Kim's song which sounds like an old school country song sung by a drunken Elvis, before letting Kim hear Kandi's Britney-ize version.
There's a huge difference between the two versions of "Tardy for the Party" and Kim immediately loves what she hears. It's more upbeat after all. Kandi simply reasons that if she's going to work with Kim on this single, it has to be on a certain level because her reputation and career is at stake. I wonder what level that is.
While Kandi has clearly worked her magic on this one, it hasn't changed how people perceive Kim's voice and the fact that she can't carry a tune. Even Kim herself doesn't want to record her voice much to the dismay of Kandi. But as we all know, Kim will record again and it might take just a little more push from Kandi for Kim to face her fears.
Meanwhile, newly single Sheree shapes up with her expensive fitness trainer, who attempts to find her love, and all of the ladies get glammed up for a black tie event to reveal their edgy Alter Ego photos. Sounds boring? Just wait till Kim gets into a serious accident and steals the spotlight from everyone.
