Not a few Dancing with the Stars fans kind of rejoiced when Samantha Harris announced her withdrawal from co-hosting duties on the ABC show, and less than a month and a half from its March 22 kick-off several suggestions have floated around as to who her replacement should be.
One such name is Nancy O'Dell, reports E! Online, who was supposed to compete on Dancing with the Stars season 8 but had to withdraw because of a knee injury.
The former Access Hollywood anchor hosted the show for 13 years, before leaving in December. She has since become the new spokesperson for a hairstyling products line and has announced that she is dabbling in outdoor furniture.
O'Dell, 43, hosted NBC's pre-show for the 66th Annual Golden Globes with Tiki Barber and DWTS season 7 champ Brooke Burke.
Another name in consideration is reportedly Ashlan Gorse, herself from E! News.
Whoever it is, DWTS judge Carrie Ann Inaba tells E! Online that the co-host position is not an easy job.
"When those dancers come off the dance floor and if they got a bad score, they're not in a good mood," she says. "Those ballroom dancers are not as easy to handle as people might think. We need somebody who can be uplifting, but they also have to be strong and tough."
Harris announced late last month that she was stepping down from DWTS after eight seasons to focus on her jobs at The Insider and Entertainment Tonight Weekend.
"We don't have anything to announce yet regarding Tom's co-host for the upcoming season," a Dancing with the Stars' rep told E! Online.
