After making her mark on morning news and prime time, Julie Chen has set her sights on daytime.
The Early Show anchor and Big Brother host will shoot a View-like talk-show pilot for CBS next month that will be geared toward mothers, a network source told Entertainment Weekly. Chen will also executive-produce the program, which, if picked up, could fill the void that will soon be left by the departing As the World Turns, the source said.
Roseanne alum Sara Gilbert has signed on as a panelist on the show. Other possible panelists include Lisa Rinna and Real Housewives of New York City's Bethenny Frankel, according to The New York Post. Gilbert and Rinna both have children, while Frankel is expecting her first child in June.
Chen, 40, has been on maternity leave since giving birth in September to her son Charlie, her first child with her husband, CBS CEO Les Moonves.
Calls and e-mails to CBS were not immediately returned.
