Survivor's 10th Anniversary Party: A Night of Heroes and Villains

Saturday night CBS held a grand party to celebrate 10 years of Survivor. An estimated 214 former contestants (including the show's original Final Four) brought their loved ones for a night of long-overdue reunions and excited first-meetings.

As a fan since the broadcast of the series first episode, I was over the moon to be walking around with a red Villains buff on my wrist, introducing myself to anyone and everyone.

Richard Hatch ducked through for a brief thirty minutes, an event that sent past contestants scurrying to his side. Despite the unfortunate jail drama, you can tell that Richard still casts a long shadow in the Survivor world, and one contestant even admitted to being star struck.

I had a flattering encounter with one of my Survivor crushes that left me speechless. When I asked Survivor: Samoa's Marisa Calihan for an interview she said, "You're the guy who wrote that article, 'My TV Girlfriend Got Voted Off in the First Episode.'" I probably looked like a dog who had been caught with his face in the refrigerator. Somehow I'd imagined I was writing into a void.
